We stayed at the Heritage apartments rather than the main hotel. The
apartment was much higher up the hill, and gave us glorious views over
Queenstown , lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables from the balcony. All
rooms had lake views. -

Can't wait to get back there next year - I'm pretty fussy and I won't rate a place unless it goes beyond my expectation and this place did in every respect. Security is important when travelling alone and AVA does it all with style and ease. I've stayed in 4 star hotels that don't have the quite keyless entry doors with closers that don't allow the doors to slam or squeak yet still allow entry in the wee hours.It's the little things like quality loo paper, body/hair wash free in the showers, the beds, people, everything was excellent - Best place to meet new people...right next to tonnes of bars and night spots. Had friends staying at other local backpackers and after three days of noise in their 10-bed dorm they were begging to move in with us! AVA is the best of both worlds - all the party spots right outside the door, but we could still come back to peace and quiet and much needed sleep. Both our rooms had ensuites - so luxurious compared to other backpackers we'd stayed in. Best value in Queenstown! Incredible views too.

Very comfortable hotel next to the Hilton and sharing facilities. These include a pub serving good pizzas and other food, and a deli with a good selection of wines (half the price of the wine shop on Beach St in Queenstown centre). Location is quiet but does create a challenge if you don't have a car. Neither bus nor ferry services to the town

and restuarant were really friendly and helpfull,obviously staff are
happy and overall our stay was very enjoyable and we will be coming back
