  Highly recommended for a visit to Amsterdam Staff were outstanding We had a medical issue and the night receptionist (at 4am) really went the extra mile to help us. Room was very modern and comfortable and quite large by european standards, high standrad of bedding and amenities such as flat screen TVs. Tram stop at the end of the street. - This hotel located in the best, area of Amsterdam with lots of great shopping and restaurants near by. Its newly redone and very modern with stylish rooms. The bathrooms are large with flat screens above the tub.I have been happy with their other hotels as well, the Roemer and Vondel. I highly recommend this hotel to any travellers looking to enjoy a great valued option compared to other ones in this expensive city.

It was the hightlight of our holiday and there were other enjoyable aspects to our stay in Amsterdam.   We stayed in one of the Penthouse rooms in the Grand Hotel Downtown with a shared roof terrace that offered spectacular views across Amsterdam. The room was very comfortable and quiet with a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities (often not provided in Hotels in Europe). The Hotel is very conveniently placed for exploring the city. It´s location is perfect for those who don´t want to be in the busiest part of the city. It´s about a 10 minute walk to the very center, and a 25 minute walk to the train station. Best location in a middle of walking street(Leidse straat) in front of tram stop (Leigse/primnsengrat).
