  We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel really stood out in terms of quality (from what we saw of other hotels in venice). The staff (who all spoke at least some English) were friendly and helpful. It is also a very short distance (5min) to the public transportation dock and maybe 15 min walk to the train station. Rooms very modern and clean. Hot water all week and lots of water pressure.   Charming, friendly and extremely helpful staff. A minor quibble: no waste paper basket(s) in the big gorgeous beamed room--a free upgrade from that requested. Unique design of room #401 (with stairs up and down to bathroom which was a shower only(but beautifully equipped) made it a little awkward to navigate. The bathroom was a bit small but very clean. The walk to the main areas of the city was about 10-15mins and very pleasant. From the hotel it is only a 4 minute walk to the Fondamente Nuova to get boats to Murano and Burrano. 3 mins from a main shopping area with cafe's etc.Staff were excellent.
