This is a beautiful hotel:an art gallery on every floor, mosaic, marble,marquetry,statues and fountains. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lake is a wonderful start to each day. Excellent food and service and very comfortable room.

Our room was lovely we kindly got upgraded to a junior suite which hadgreat views of the lake and surrounding area. Outside sitting area wasreally nice to. - There is also a large unpaved parking across the road, at the north-side of the hotel.

My wife and myself stayed at the hotel for two nights. Location of the hotel is excellent, a two minutes walk from the ferries. pier Room very clean. Very comfortable hotel and good location being just a few minutes walk from the lake and in the old part of the town. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room and bathroom were large and clean(we were fortunate to have been allocated a room with a balcony). The breakfast buffet was extensive, including fresh fruit (not just tinned). Plenty of parking and a large elevator. Location just 5 minutes from the boat docks and about a 20 minute stroll along the promenade to the city center of Stresa. Rooms were very large, clean and huge bathroom.

Closeness to everything. The proximity to the town square was interesting and fun. We were very close to transport for the lake and the islands. Shopping in the town was also good value. First of all this is a very beautiful old villa with wooden floor and ceiling, old nice decoration incide, with a very nice garden with roses and very friendly staff. Consider lake view rooms to get wonderful view of Maggiore and more comfort with trains passing by behind hotel (we didn't notice them to stop going even late at night).

The double room we booked was really large (the bathroom too). It was clean and relatively freshly refurbished. There's a free internet connection (each day you have to ask the owners, who work in the restaurant downstairs, for a 24h-password). Old hotel that has been renovated extensively. The room was was very large with a hallway leading to the bathroom. Very clean and tidy. Staff and owners struggled a bit with English. The hotel was right in the middle of Stresa and very close to ferrys to islands. Very hard to find as name on building is not the name in Booking .com.

This hotel was awesome. We were to have stayed 2 days and stayed 5. Beautiful view of Lake Maggiorie from room. Breakfast was awesome. Fresh fruit from the garden to include fragolina grapes and figs. Had a wonderful relaxing time. Used hotel as base for visiting Stresa, Orto, various other towns.....can even use it as a base for going into Switze

The hotel, which is clean, modern, comfortable and well-equipped, is about 4km from Stresa with a magnificent view over Lake Maggiore. The hotel staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful. I had a thoroughly enjoyable stay there in relaxing and peaceful surroundings.

Most rooms are facing the lake and you could sit out in the balcony enjoying the view. The bed and pillows are comfortable, with firm mattress which is quite important for a good night sleep.
The car park is right opposite the hotel which is very convenient. But it is not within walking distance to Stresa town centre as it is still a few minutes

Very cosy, nicely decorated little place with a view to Lago Maggiore. Very helpful and hospitable staff who made it feel like we stay at our grandma's country house. Fascinating breakfast! If you tavel by train e.x. from Milan, you might find the location a bit remote. This is however very relative... We had no problem to have a 30-mins walk from the train station along the coastline to the hotel. If you travel by car, the location is perfect and a free parking is also available. Highly recomm

To call it 'basic' would be an injustice - its a simple place, exactly how hotels used to be, without the modern frills that many hotels now offer (eg aircon, fridge). What it does offer is: charming and helpful family owners, great location (just 3mins walk off the lake-shore) on a quiet lane, simple accommodation, balcony overlooking quiet leafy gardens. Lovely hotel, great value for money, definitely recommended
