  The staff were extremely nice, helpful and spoke very good english. They marked out on a map most of the sights in the city and how to get to them easily. The Hotel is well kept and clean, the room was a bit small but for the amount of time actually spent in it, it did the job.   The Amalfi hotel is situated within walking distance of the main railway station and is great for making it an easy two stop holiday which is what we did. It is also within walking distance of the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. The beautiful Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore Church is just across the road. The room was beautifully refurbished and the bathroom was new. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the front desk is open 24 hours a day. I recommend Hotel Max as a great, inexpensive place to stay in a grea
