  An easy walk from Piazzale Roma bus station and Santa Lucia train station (no boat to catch, no dragging suitcases through the heavy tourist traffic). There was absolutely no noise from the train station or the canal adjacent the apartments. Due to the location you do not get large numbers of passers by, so very peaceful. We couldn't find it immediately but on the second walk past we realised that each house has its own number in the locality, rather than a street number. It was wonderful to be able to walk to and fro to San Marco's Square and despite the close proximity, the price was very reasonable. The location was perfect between the Rialto and St Marco square-we couldn't have picked better! Very impressed with how friendly the staff are and how welcomed we felt.   The hotel is just beautiful. It's a three hundred year old Palazzo that has been meticulously restored, with great attention to detail and luxury. Our room was quite outstanding - extremely " high tech" ( comment from our 21 year old who was very impressed!) combined with traditional, lavish furnishings - drapes, pelmets, wallpaper, furniture ; if... что говорят » you are into design and interior decorating, this is the place! We felt very welcomed and " at home" in beautiful surroundings. The staff were incred - This hotel was our favorite from all of our hotels this trip. The location was perfect for walking everywhere and easy access from the water taxi at Rialto bridge....just remember to turn at the Disney store and you'll always find it! We did eat in the restaurant one night and it was very good. Our waiter was excellent and I'm pretty sure he is the only Italian waiter to have smiled at us our whole trip (no joke!) We also had a couples massage one evening. Though I would not say it is a "spa"

The front desk staff were very attentive to any requests, very helpful and graciously answered our many questions, especially Carlos. The room and hotel was very clean and nicely furnished.
