The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful yet in a discreet way. Our room was wonderfully furnished and decorated in an antique style that 'themed' with the royal city of Loches. Tired from travelling we lounged in the sunshine in the little garden. It was very peaceful and quiet and great taste everywhere.

Delphine was a really lovely hostess. Very genuine and easy going. Fantastic location if a quiet retreat is what you are after. A car is a must. Room was immaculate with beautiful furniture and the bathroom was fabulous. Fantastic pool to relax by surrounded by lovely gardens, birdsong, a donkey and a horse...and of course the resident doggy! -

Anne runs one of the most comfortable and friendly inns we've ever enjoyed. We've traveled extensively, and it's hard to find a place that makes you feel at home even as you enjoy the luxury of being on vacation. This is a very special place. Sleeping in a well-appointed cave was unusual, charming, comfortable and (welcome during a heatwave) cool. Beautiful bijou-garden setting, with interior design reflecting artistic flair of Alain, the very obliging and helpful host, who also served a superb breakfast. We would have disliked carrying our bags back up to the car parking space higher up the cliff, had not the Alain volunteered to do it for us. This place is amazing - the rooms are luxurious (we especially loved the Victoria room, with its massive bathroom and shower), Alain is the most genial and interesting host. Breakfast is full of homemade treats - and good coffee!
This is essentially a family home/estate which has been lovingly restored.
The area and the town of Azay-le-Rideau are very beautiful, and convenient for visting wine producers too.

The women conscierges were wonderful, allowing us to relax in France andpractice our flawed French. We were able to picnic poolside after hours,just relax in a beautiful house. The town of Azay-Le-Rideau is beautiful, and a great stopover between Calais and SW France. Lots of bars and restaurants to explore, nice bar by the river for the children to paddle in. Our children also enjoyed riding their bikes around.

of restaurants to eat. Azay-le-Rideau is a smaller town and we found
that charming. The Azay-le-Rideau Chateau is right down the street! It
was easy to drive to the other Chateaus in the area and avoid the
bigger city of Tours (parking, noise, etc.). Breakfast in the courtyard
was a wonderful way to start a day (and we are still wondering about

Our stay here was absolutely wonderful from the moment we arrived. It was such a unique experience to stay in a cave which was so comfortable and had a beautifully renovated bathroom. Our hosts Celine and Steve were so welcoming and we enjoyed a beautiful dinner in the cave restaurant and sampled delicious regional produce. They even put on cartoons to entertain the kids whilst we ate dinner. Highly highly recommend! -

Everything about La Cyrillaure was great. The welcome was warm, the room was lovely and the pool fantastic. Francoise went out of her way to help us get the most from our stay in the Loire and she and Jean-Francois are the perfect hosts. We booked at the last moment in a hurry... we didn't check the reviews or anything we just went for it. Driving there we went up the wrong road and our hearts dropped thinking it was going to be a crummy place based on the lay of the land. Once we got back on track the main road faded away to a long driveway to a perfect chateau experience. Its been really well renovated. Rooms are expansive with beautiful views.
