  We stayed at Mama Shelter - Marseille for 2 nights. The rooms itself were full of light and very clean. It is modern and styled for the minimalist, but you pretty much have all you need. The bar and restaurant downstairs is great - good atmosphere and ambience. Food was nice but a little over priced for what you get.   The hotel is a wonderful spot. It looks relatively new and is much larger than I expected. The rooms are large, very clean, and well appointed. After many negative experiences with self-check in at places in France, it was a relief to have someone at the front desk 24 hours a day. Highly recommended! - It's a great place to stay when in Marseille if you like to be able to do some of your own meals at home. It's close to the train station but with views out to the water from the upper rooms. While it's in the city it is only a 5 - 10 minute walk downhill to Joliette from where you you can take a bus straight to the beach at L'Estaque.within 20 minutes. Very comfortable and quiet although works currently going on nearby.

  I had checked almost all the hotels in Marseille in this price category before I made a choice. And I would confirm all of the previous feedback. I had studio for 2 persons. Very quietly and good conditioner with cold and heat. Beside good room-number, there are avail - Metro station and supermarkets nearby; fully equipped kitchen; clean room and comfortable bed; quite big music library in TV; also the hospital near and so-called noise is not a problem at all (you can hardly hear anything from outside the room); receptionists were kind and spoke english (what an exception in France!)
