I have to give a special mention to Marion the restaurant manager who went out of her way to help us after we were not happy with the reception staff who dealt with us when we arrived. We were going to move hotels but she went that extra mile. She gave us complementary breakfast and it was absolutely amazing. Apart from the man on the desk all

This amazing place was perfectly located right next to the Great Pyramid in Giza. We were fortunate to have been upgraded to a suite which was totally awesome with heaps too much space for us (not that we were going to complain). Make sure you pay that extra for the pyramid view - well worth it. The pool was glorious and we were made to feel very welcome by the staff. The security at the gate was very reassuring and I was happy to put up with the small inconvenience.

Mercure Sphinx is a great place to stay in Cairo,close enough to
pyramids, safe area, and within walking distance to many good and cheap
restaurants. You can get good dinner in Cairo within price range of 5 to

The location is perfect for anyone wanting to spend a couple days around the pyramid area. It is only a ten minute walk to the entry of the pyramids. It is safe and not necessary to pay in advance for a tour guide. To save travellers money, we suggest going independantly to the pyramids, where you can then get a horse or camel at the site if you wish, or you can walk the site on your own. I loved that nothing was a problem. The staff went out of their way to
help me and make sure that my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. I was
there during the 2nd Revolution, but even so was able to take tours and

The staff were great, the room was spotless, the range of food was good,
especially the breakfast. For the price we paid and considering the
location, we think it was great value for money. It was also nice to
have some green space after spending a few days seeing the sights of
Cairo! After reading some of the reviews, we weren't expecting much,
but we really enjoyed our time there!
