the front desk and resteraunt staff were very nice and helpful! It was our 30th wedding anniversary, and the young man at the desk helped make it a wonderful celebration by giving us a very nice room with a great view of PNC Park and the river. Great rooms. Great location. If you're in town for a baseball game, this hotel is a great option. I've stayed at this hotel and the Fairmont. This hotel was as nice as the Fairmont for half the price. And the staff is more accomodating here.

Staff, from front desk to bell hop and front door person were very accommodating and friendly. The room was very comfortable, the staff very friendly and helpful, and the building is a beautiful 1906 structure. The staff was incredibly friendly! Great-looking lobby, clean room, loved the high ceilings in the room. Nice place. Nice view. Hotel is beautiful, actually AWESOME inside. The room was described as having a view but the view was of heating/cooling equipment on the roof next door. The soap in bath room is very rough and dries your skin in a matter of seconds :(( (Have to go across the street and buy a pack). NEVER thought I will complain about something like that, yet here I am. The room was a little small and a disappointment for the price. No pool nor jacuzzi. Relaxation should be more than alcohol. Bathroom had no fan or venting. Room service food was atrocious. One very minor complaint - we asked if we could walk to a restaurant and were told it was a 15-minute walk. It was actually 3 miles! We took a cab back. Location. The hotel is in a really busy block with limited parking and not pleasant to walk. Parking but we understand it is a city. We were able to use the public parking garages but it was a bit of a hike. The garage across the street has a very low height restriction which was not posted on any of the cites. My Suburban didn't fit and it caused a bit of a stir as I backed out into the busy street. But for a being in my 20's I didn't think room was worth the money. It was a little expensive. 15 degrees. Restaurant service could have been better. Cost. Older room was handicap room which we did not request and shower was poor little pressure no safe in room. We paid way to much money to stay here. Now I see the hotel is charging my cc twice...not real happy .
