This beautiful cottage is close to many shops & restaurants yet away from it all. Parking is no problem. It is only a 15 minute walk to the lake. VERY clean, and does not miss anything in the room. We loved the different kinds of tea & coffee & hot chocolate, biscuits, chocolates & sweets! Close to village centre and the lake and ideally situated for the main routes to other parts of the Lake District yet tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The welcome and service could not be more friendly and helpful yet unobtrusive. Breakfast is perfect and all of the rooms have thoughtful extra touches, choice of teas and coffees, biscuits and toiletries. If we are lucky enough to be able to come back to Windermere we. This is a NICE cottage decorated with Peter Rabbit and its friends. besides to water, coffee and tea served in the room, it provides a few pieces of biscuit. It is close to many shops and restaurants. It is also close to the bus-stop where you can take a bus (599) to Grasmere and Bowness-on-Windermere (Peter Rabbit is there). DELICIOUS breakfast is served here. AND we can leave our bags in cottage after we checking out. We really don't want to travel with heavy bags. First, the proprietor, Jean, was friendly and knowledgeable, providing us with pleasant conversation and insights into the area. The breakfasts she served were generous, varied, and delicious. Our cozy room had lots of thoughtful touches, like needle and thread, scissors, sweets, etc. Located alongside the main thoroughfare of this lovely village, we had easy access to all attractions. Our highest recommendation. This is the best hotel/guest house we have ever experienced in UK! The owners are extremly friendly, with welcome-milk, very nice breakfast with several choice, nice setting in the room, beautiful decoration in the room, everywhere, you can experience the care and efforts the owner put into this guesthouse. The location was perfect; a two minute walk into Windermere for an evening meal and Bowness was also just a 15-20 minute walk away. The accommodation was very comfortable and you wanted for nothing as far as facilities were concerned. The owners were very welcoming and made you feel completely relaxed; it was like having breakfast in your own home!. Jean was great very accommodating and made our stay very comfortable and homely. It is in the centre of Windermere and included a parking permit which was very useful. Cosy, clean, perfect place to relax after a active day out in the lakes! This cottage is just perfect in every way. If there was one thing that I can improve would be to start breakfast a bit earlier for those early risers who would like to start their day a bit ahead. Having said that, I am sure that breakfast would be provided earlier if requested. Simply a FANTASTIC place!. Believe me nothing to dislike.. there was nothing I did not like, i will definitely stay there again. Personal preference would have been to be further away from the town road. If the windows are closed its quiet, but if open you will hear cars at times. It really would be the same for most places here in Windermere. No complaints. There was to much stuff in the rooms. IE. ornaments, toiletries etc. that took up all the room you needed for bags and personal belongings. Nothing irritating. Rooms are a little cluttered and linen a bit tired. A little overpriced. Earlier breakfast times would be good. The stairs to top floor were a bit steep for an older couple. Lights in bathroom a bit dim. Shower cubicle a bit cramped. . Room a little too small. "Fresh fruit" on pancakes was hot jam, though the pancakes were lovely. stairs but these cannot be changed and Jean very helpful taking up luggage. Stairs could be an issue for elderly or disabled guests. room a little small,breakfast a little overcooked. The selection of furniture makes storage of baggage difficult for three adults. not much of a view. Touch expensive. Better blinds would help get a better nights sleep. so far no.
