Kendal, Grasmere and Dove Cottage, the home of William Wordsworth are only a 20 minute drive away and the M6 motorway is only 15 minutes’ drive from Ivythwaite Lodge.

Everything was perfect. The staff, the food, the room everything was just perfect. Its also a great location just between windermere and bowness. Brilliant stay, fully recommend. excellent accomodation clean tidy value for money breakfast was very good and plenty to eat from our personnal point of view we could not fault it at all. Only 10 mins walk from either Windermere or Bowness. Beautiful room (Skiddaw), spotlessly clean and lovely breakfast.

No dislikes just 2 minnor points. 1) No where to hang wet coats in rooms2) Hallway light shines through door on a night would be better usinglights that dim or go out unless there movement in the hall way. A couple of very minor points were that on going upstairs for the firsttime the carpet was threadbare in places which gave a wrong impressionof the accommodation as a whole. They radiator cover stopped a lot ofthe heat getting into the room but that was easily removed. The bathroomwas cold with only single glazing. And more tea in the rooms would havebeen welcomed. Don't try to use the car park there is plenty of room on the road in front of the guest house.The shower didn't really go to a hot enough temperature, however if we wasn't too shy to say anything about it the problem might have been sorted. Shower did not work. no. did not have a mirror over the dressing table. Small details of the decoration could do with some attention.
