The hotel has a fine location on a height on the outskirts of St. Ives, reached by a very narrow driveway. Our room had a spectacular view over the coast and town. It was nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. The hotel personnel were friendly and helpful. The restaurant presented good meals at a modest price; the breakfast was fresh and offered a large choice. The location of the hotel makes it a good base for walking along the North Cornish coastal path. We would certainly return to the Ga.
todos opiniões » Everything. It has a lovely relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I would describe our stay there as a five star experience from a three star hotel. Whilst it may not be the cheapest place to stay, you gets what you pay for and with this hotel you get a lot. St Ives is a magical place to stay and this hotel just is the icing on the cake. Our room in the cottage annex, very quiet & sea view lovely! The most amazing food in the restaurant in the evening & great breakfast too. Nice leisure facilities - a swim & sauna followed by relaxing with a cuppa by the side of the pool! Very friendly staff, would definitely go back & will recommend it to our friends. Everything!! Loved our stay at the Garrack Hotel, the food was fantastic, the breakfasts were amazing to, the staff were so friendly, helpful and nothing was to much trouble. Two of the waitresses even gave us a lift up the hill and we had only met them the night before. Beautiful views from the rooms and very quiet at night. Position superb. Friendly personal staff. Our son , daughter in law & 3 girls live just down the road, so it provides a private space for us to stay as they have no spare room. Swimming pool & cafe give us extra options , especially when weather not so good. the location was really good, overlooking the town with a 10 minute walk down the hill to reach the beach. The room we stayed in (Room 4) was large and comfortable. The restaurant was excellent, with great food and very friendly staff. It's a slice off paradise ...staff are great ..food was amazing room was warm ,very clean...sleep great breakfast was great ..we were there for one nite while working local..they made us feel at home ..and that is worth it...thanks. Dishes on the à la carte dinner menus consisted often of unmatched components that did not complement each other, thus ensuring that there would be something you don't like on each dish. We were disappointed to find the bathroom did not have a shower - just a large bath. I am sure that this detail was probably in the description, but it is just something I wouldn't think to check for these days. Only having one nite wish it was for longer. Shower was OK but could be improved. Nothing, everything was great. Relatively high priced. Couldn't find any faults!. Hike up from the beach and town! Toilet flush broken. Dated furnishings. Price. Limited options on menu. It is difficult to find but the location is amazing, at the back of St Ives. Nothing. Stairs were slightly uneven at one point and we both tripped up. I hate the fact that all hotels seem to have milk in tiny plastic containers. Restricted bar /beverage service, and no draught beer! Not really a thing to make a fuss about though. The fact that I had to leave!. Room heating was to high for our liking. Limited wifi. Seaview was obscured by shrubs in front of window. Fancied sitting outside on lawn, looked for recling chair but could only find some dirty and green algae covered plastic sunbirds behind a hedge. Nothing. Some of the fixtures were a bit tired. Nothing. Internet is a bit spasmodic but one can find places in the hotel where it can be received. Internet only working in two public rooms. Restaurant somewhat overrated. N/A. We both felt the hotel was wonderful, the staff were all very helpful, except for your waitress. On the first morning we had breakfast the waitress was very hostile and abrupt, she was the same on the Sunday. Which is a shame because all the other staff were excellent and helpful. Less maintained building, very loud inside (crying children, closing doors...), flashiness clean bathroom, all windows were dirty - disgusting, no constance in cooking quality, service staff unprofessional. Room dated / worn. Felt it was very expensive for standard, esp in November, as it was nothing special. Stayed in pubs / b & b's with more modern facilities for less money. Food was not great either. Lacking thought and attention to detail overall. The whole experience was spoiled by the cost against the quality of the room, which was rather "tired". The bed was uncomfortable and decor needed attention. Wifi provision was very patchy and would not be a great expense to improve. At the price paid I would expect good quality wifi, a safe and refrigerator in the room, and, of course, a comfortable bed. Was a little disappointed with the bedroom nothing like the one on website. Also the bathroom was not up to standard considering the money they charge,needed updating, shower was pants!!!!!!!!!. his prices were not in line with todays standerds food was bad room was noisy.
