In the heart of Shanklin's Old Village, The Grange is 1km from the beach. It offers tranquillity, tea/coffee and biscuits supplies available all day, a sauna and various activities. The Grange is just a short walk from pubs and restaurants and only a couple of minutes from the sea. The train station just a few minutes away too. Shanklin Chine and its waterfalls are 2 streets away. Each room is elegantly decorated in natural tones and is embellished with bold and colorful art. Guest can enjoy free luxury toiletries and most rooms enjoy views of the sea or downs. The Grange boasts a spacious dining room, a bar area and an outdoor terrace. There are also 2 chalets outside, one has a sauna for guest use and a room for massage treatments, and the other is designated as the yoga room. Courses and activities proposed by the hotel include yoga, create writing, music and dance. They must be booked in advance.

Lovely under rated hotel in fantastic surrounds. We had our five month old daughter with us.. cot provided free of charge.. recommended!. Nice size room with beautiful view, very clean, good location and friendly staff. The whole atmosphere was very calm and relaxing. very peacefull, and the breakfast.all round lovelly place to stay. The fact we could help ourselves to tea and coffee through out the day, and the honesty bar was lovely a real home from home.

The trust inspired by the 'honesty box' bar!. Oasis of peace and calm just off busy old town ....great ..super staff and quirky non corporate hotel ... travellodges stay clear!. It was very well located for the centre of Shankin and the beach but was sufficiently secluded.very helpfull and pleasant staff. the bed stood up well. Being able to use the bar facility at any time of the day or night by logging our own drinks. Very trustworthy of the owners. Excellent rooms, good breakfast and big sitting room, very nice garden. very freindly, and relaxing. Being able to relax. Ideal location, Hotel spotless, lovely place to relax. Staff friendly. reception staff very welcoming, lovely grounds, good breakfast, nice and clean.Very friendly staff. Comfortable room.it was peaceful. The location. bed was okay. Parking a little bit tricky.. but not a major problem. Bathroom a bit damp smeling,. Absolutely nothing!. pity no bath in our room and Garden needs a little TLC but this nit picking. Check in times are too strict (prorpiertors act like you are not welcome- just a paying guest), breakfast too late during week, fan did not work. the tele wasn't very good,. not enough parking spaces,. The after 11pm door needs a light to see the number pad and a hall lightso you can see the stairs. The tv reception was very poor and verydifficult to switch on. Hotel has major business running courses and this dominated and stretched breakfast service in particular to detriment of other guests.They need to spend time on the garden. I would not rate it as AA 4star. Lack of help in knowing where things are. No assistance with what to do at breakfast time or where to sit.Variable hot water and mouldy shower/bathroom. the bed was very uncomfortable. the receptionist was nowhere to be seen and the bell for the office was not working. room as well as bathroom very small, breakfast nothing special, lots of curtains and things, lot of sneezing!. Dog left chained at outside main door. No explanation re room, where things were or how things operated. No Customer Service as staff never seen. Cold Buffett breakfast. Trust Bar Service, no staff. Do not understand how this Hotel was awarded 4 Star. Very poor value for money.
