A 200-year-old farmhouse set in a quiet location on the edge of the village of Thropton, this B&B has free Wi-Fi and stunning views across the River Coquet valley to the Simonside Hills. The bedrooms at Thropton Demesne Farmhouse B&B are tastefully decorated in a traditional style and have a fireplace, flat-screen TV and tea/coffee making facilities. The bathrooms have power showers, luxurious Egyptian cotton towels, bathrobes and complimentary toiletries. In the morning, guests can enjoy a freshly cooked breakfast made using locally sourced produce where possible and homemade bread. Breakfast is served in the conservatory which boasts morning views of the garden, the hills and the river valley. There is a restaurant a 2-minute walk away. The guest lounge has large leather sofas, original artworks and on chilly evenings, a log burning stove. The ancient market town of Rothbury is just 2 miles from Thropton Demesne Farmhouse and Northumberland National Park is a 15-minute drive away. There is free parking at the property.

The welcome from Dave and Pauline made us feel like long lost friends, despite us turning up 2 hours early we were shown straight to our beautiful room. The room was bright and clean with beautiful luxury fittings, the attached bathroom equally as good. The views from the window were out of this world ... a truly beautiful tranquil setting. The breakfast the following morning was fit for royalty, there was cereal, fruit and juice in several varieties followed by Bacon, sausage, egg, mushrooms .
todos opiniões » Fantastic family home which envelopes you like a big hug when you enter. Dave and Pauline were friendly, full of good advice and very approachable. The room we had overlooked the Simonside Hills, the view was outstanding. It had everything you needed with some very unexpected extras provided by our hosts (corkscrew, wine glasses, wine chiller, luxury toiletries and books). If you are lucky enough to visit read Dave's self penned tales they are hilarious. If you get good weather it is lovel. The list is vast! The proprietors were absolutely wonderful! Extremely generous, warm, knowledgeable, as well as what we southern USers call "good people". I truly feel as if I met a new part of my family visiting with them. We left laden with hugs, sweets, homemade marmalade from Pauline and drawings from David. We had good chats and advice which we should have taken:) However,, I am confident that we will get to Craigside on our next visit which I am trying to schedule for next year. Definite. Great location, especially for a visit to the Scottish Boarders and nearby National Trust properties. Thr room was lovely and the seperate private bathroom was not a issue, in fact was preferential as was a good size.Our hosts were extremely welcoming, hospitable and very friendly.The pastries at breakfast were delicious! A great place to relax and enjoy the countryside around. To be highly recommended. The best B & B we have ever stayed in. Dave and Pauline were excellent hosts, we were treated more like friends than just guests. The room was excellent, with stunning views, the food was exceptional, (especially the home-made bread every morning). A great place, wonderful welcome and service throughout, lovely views, run by a very friendly couple. The local pub (a short walk away) does excellent meals and also has friendly staff - we arrived at just gone 9.00pm but were still served. David's booklets are definitely worth a read. We stayed for 3 nights and the best was the very personal touch. We will remember Pauline and Dave for their personalities, the interest they took in us, the effort they made that our stay would be as good as possibly - and we really did injoy visiting their home and Northumberland. My wife and I liked the location and the welcome was really friendly and welcoming-the owners make you feel at home and are really nice to talk to - we like everything and this would be my choice all the time now if returning to Northumberland-would recommnend to all. Lovely location with great views of the countryside. The room was excellent - so clean & comfortable. Shower room perfect. Landlord's uncomplimentary anecdotes about previous visitors as published in the bedroom's visitor information pack. Never thought I'd say this, but the owner looked at me as if I was mad when I asked for some sauce to go with my fry-up. No iron or board available, despite being advertised. Partner was less than impressed with finding a shower poof, in the shower, that had clearly been used by the previous guest. The pub/restaurant that was recommended in the village was awful, avoid at all costs!. did not get a cooked breakfast on the first morning which we were really looking forward to. as we did not realise we had to be at the breakfast table by 0830. very disappointed. then told i hope you like continental breakfast in a sarcastic tone. could have been explained better that we had to be at the breakfast table by 0830. Very inflexible rules to stay eg breakfast at 8.30 am only, on the dot Over priced for level of accommodation and breakfast Owners TV very loud in one guest bedroom Wifi does not work in one of guest bedrooms Rude hosts, limited idea of who is welcomed and not. Do not respond well to any queries.
