  This is a really professional hotel which excels in thoughtful touches. Although I had a single room, the bed was generous and comfortable. As it was very hot, a fan suddenly appeared in the room after the bed was turned down. There was a cafetiere and real coffee in the room. Exceptionally cheerful and friendly helpful staff at breakfast facility - and with English as a first language, which made a change! - The room was clean and comfortable.   A very old inn, of real character, with an intriguing history and attractive name; a place that has been through a lot in its time, and with a touch of eccentricity that we loved. A genuinely friendly atmosphere with spacious accommodation in a new timber building set apart from the inn. The wine and the main meal and breakfast were excellent. - Friendly staff, quiet location, good food (including real chips!), good beer, room 4 was a good size with a beautiful view - wish the weather had been good enough to sit out on the balcony. Quality bed linen, towels and bath robes also quality toiletries. Very clean and lovely bathroom. Real glasses in room and bathroom - not plastic as we got in a more expensive hotel!
