As a cycling group, several of us arrived late but they kept the kitchen open late to feed us which really was appreciated. Breakfast was fantastic and set us up well for our second day of cycling! Lovely place with friendly staff.

We stayed for one night with our three children (aged 9, 7 and 5). The location is wonderful with views over Derwent Water. We had not stayed in a Youth Hostel before but it really suited us and we would definately consider going back. The children enjoyed the pool table and table tennis table. This is a fantastic place to stay in a perfect location. We travelled to Keswick by train and bus then walked to the hostel.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful
Food was good value, very tasty and plentiful.
Liked having a proper sheet, pillow case and clean duvet cover.
Self catering provision was excellent.
Great facilities for children (table tennis, pool, games).

A most charming inn set in a beautiful location overlooking Skiddaw. The property was convenient and clean. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. The view along the park and river is beautiful. We loved it and would definitely suggest the place to others. We parked right along the road by the hostel. -

Extemely welcoming staff. When i got delaid on the train and emailed the hostel to check they would still have someone on reception they responded straight away. Breakfast was well worth the price, it was a little noisy with kids but nothing i wouldnt have expected. My single room on the third floor was surprisingly roomy with several bathroom in the vercinity. All in all, great staff, brilliant value for money super setting (right on the lake) will deffinitely be back!

Staff were very friendly and helpful and appeared very professional and capable.
The food was good and I particularly appreciated the option for porridge that was prepared hot and fresh for morning breakfast.
I have rated the staff as good based on the limited interaction that I had with them, but I am sure that they are at the very least deserving of this standard.

I enjoyed my stay very much and the staff were friendly, although the room was small (single) it was clean and comfortable. The meal was lovely alot of food on the platealong with a nice friendly atmosphere in the bar. - i really enjoyed my stay at the hotel and its good value for the money. I recommond it very much.

Location was excellent being far enough from the M6 motorway to be quiet & near enough the city centre for a quick visit. Great stopping off point for a long journey from South England to North of Scotland.
