  This short break was booked for my partners Brithday , we stayed for 2 nights. The room we had was a deluxe double so I can only comment on that type of room , and it was very lovely , large and airy and extremely comfortable. The hotel has a lovely feel to it , it is charming and the environment is completely relaxing. During our stay the staff ... o que as pessoas dizem » were excellent and anything we required was dealt with in an efficient and timely manner. I particularily enjoyed chilling out in the drawing room wit - Everything - didn't want to leave! - log fires in all the main rooms and even some bedrooms - not to be missed is afternoon tea and the knowledgeable bar staff who will educate you in their stock of whiskies and biggest selection of gins that we have ever seen.So peaceful - Duke and Scottish borders should be very proud

  It was genuinely nice place to be. The staff were lovely and the decor was simple but in very good taste (subjective). Food was excellent and reasonably priced and the breakfast was Superb. I know this can't be guaranteed, but the other guests were pleasant and interesting too.
