The owners,Val and Brian Leask were very friendly and easy to be with. They were very welcoming and I instantly felt at home when I entered the hotel. The accomodation was lovely, particularly the bed - it was huge!! The breakfast was probably the best I've had. I'm definitely bringing my partner back to stay again! - private, very friendly owners

This short break was booked for my partners Brithday , we stayed for 2 nights. Everything - didn't want to leave! - log fires in all the main rooms and even some bedrooms - not to be missed is afternoon tea and the knowledgeable bar staff who will educate you in their stock of whiskies and biggest selection of gins that we have ever seen.So peaceful - Duke and Scottish borders should be very proud

I was given an overflow room at the hotel, which was actually a very quaint 1 bedroom cottage, a stones throw from the hotel. The room was lovely and the service was excellent. Since we were exploring the area around Selkirk and had only one day, we did not have time to hunt for restaurants. It was wonderful to have an excellent restaurant to come back to in our own hotel. - Excellent service, staff very attentive, food was superb and standard room was excellent.

My second stay at this hotel. This is a big old Scottish house and
feels very special compared with many of the more "standard
type" hotels I stay in when travelling on business. Breakfast was

Good food and a well stocked bar. Attentive and friendly staff, (special mention for our delightful breakfast waitress) Drying facilities for fishing, secure storeage/cleaning facilities for shooting. Super grounds and proximity to the Abbey. The speed of response to a maintenance issue. See opp.

Then entrance to the reception was beautiful and the grounds spectacular. Eeverything was available. The food in the resturant was brilliant - Everything was enjoyable it was very peaceful and relaxing.

Stuart and Sarah made me feel so welcome from the start. They could not have been more helpful, especially with sorting out a menu for my guests, some of whom had food allergies. The room was warm, very comfortable with lots of cosy touches, and ample tea and coffee making facilities. I ate breakfasts and an evening meal and the food was superb,

Lovely grounds, good location handy for Eyemouth and the whole Borders region. Food pretty good. Small (only 4 rooms) with personal friendly service. Rooms comfortable. Nice bar with friendly and cosy ambience. Lots of parking. Located out of town in beautiful countryside - very peaceful, and lovely to sit outside in the sunshine. Wifi had good signal in public areas.
