I loved everything about the hotel. Every member of staff was reallyhelpful and quite lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. The bookingout time of 12 noon was realistic and breakfast between 7 and 11 wascertainly more civilised than some hotels. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and hot options cooked to order. All the big attractions are within easy walking distance. The staff were extremely helpful and suggested that we change our roomto meet my mother's needs (she'd hurt her foot at work and is scared oftravelling in lifts so we'd have needed to climb 6 floors to get to ourroom). Bar Convent is lovely. It's cheap, clean, safe, quiet, comfortable, welcoming and convenient for central York.
It isn't luxurious, but you don't choose to stay in a working convent if you want luxury. Everything you need is there and more, including a huge garden which is a big plus in York city centre.
