Our accommodation was actually a townhouse over 3 storeys just yards offthe royal mile. It was fantastic-clean and well equipped and would nothesitate to recommend it. The flat was provided with clean towels and hair dryers for each room. It even had sky tv. Walking distance to royal mile and the castle. The staff was very attentive and courteous. Enjoyed the stay, I would highly recommend.

The Elder York Guest House is a lovely place to stay in Edinburgh! The location is excellent, walking distance to all attractions. There are road works going on, but these won't interrupt your stay and should be over soon. Paul and Deborah were excellent hosts - very friendly and informative. The room was clean and comfortable, and housekeeping was excellent. Room including breakfast was a real bonus. The hotel is in a quiet area but still only a short walk to city centre. I have already recommended staying at Abbey Hotel to my work colleagues.

We stayed at Simpson loan 24/7! Fantastic apartment! We loved it so much, that we booked with VIP apartments for our next stay again! Marc is the best, he really takes care of the guests. The apartment is beautifully furnished and set in a great location opposite the meadow, only a 10 min walk from the castle and the Royal Mile and everything else you would want to visit. This hotel is a real gem of a find..it is about a 10 minute walk or 3 minute cab ride from Princess Street. It is spotlessly clean and was so cozy that we din't want to leave. The staff are a credit to the hotel, nothing is too much trouble for them. I arrived 2 hours early and my room was ready and i was allowed to check in with any problems.

Brekfast has plenty of variety and if you leave the beautiful dining room hungry, then you have only yourself to blame.

The room was well sized, central location (behind Carlton Hill) and close to Princes Street and St James shopping centre. The quiet surroundings made for a very comfortable sleep and the bed was also very comfortable. The staff were very helpful and friendly and always had a smile. Also from the living room area there was a nice little garden (although not sure if/how you could get to it)
