Each of the individually designed rooms has an en suite bathroom, and features a flat-screen TV, tea and coffee facilities and luxury bathrobes. Some rooms have garden views. Hotel Dale Lodge is a refurbished Georgian building with original features, located in the peaceful village of Grasmere. Free parking is available on site, and free Wi-Fi is also accessible throughout the hotel. The Lodge Restaurant serves locally sourced dishes by candlelight. Tweedies Bar features a wood-burner, and offers a selection of British Ales. Guests are also welcome to explore the extensive hotel gardens. Dale Lodge is situated just 4 miles from Ambleside town centre and 20 minutes from Windermere. The hotel offers a central and scenic location, with walking and hiking routes available just outside.

Relaxed atmosphere; beautiful beer garden with plenty of tables and option to eat outside; excellent bar with good real ales and brilliant live music. the staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was the best! well worth going.We always enjoy it when go to the Dale Lodge thats why we keep going back!. Efficient friendly staff good room. All staff very attentive. Excellent meals. Lovely room and furnishings throughout the hotel. Large comfortable lounge to relax in the evenings.

I would like to have the option of a vegetarian breakfast that is not just eggs, e.g. full english with vegetarian sausages. Very few hotels/BandBs offer this and it is a major plus point for me.It would have been nice to have a room view. The evening meal menu was good but to rich for everynight, we would have liked more plain food to choose from. What we did have was very nice.N/A. room in need of decoration,. A smell in the reception area. Tweedies Bar was noisey in our room on Sunday night(7). Meals service was slow. Reception service also slow. They need to employ more staff. Position of shower gel above bath not suitable.Affiliation with a local Leisure Club not available. Shower needed securing as head kept flopping down.We got told there was a beer festival at the hotel the weekend westayed, as we only stayed one night I expected a nice quiet night withmy boyfriend. But unfortunatley right outside our window was the beerfestival with a loud band. I wasnt the happiest of guest that night!. canned music in the dining hall. The cost was a ;little on the expensive side. It was advertised as having free wireless internet, which was one of the reasons we chose it. However on both nights this service was not working and I had important business to do.Our room was at the front of the hotel and all night every 15 mins the church bells rang we did not sleep at all all night would not go back we left feeling ill with no sleep. I did complain when we left and staff said not again. we were up around 7:30 - 8:00 and went down for breakfast to find the whole hotel in complete darkness and the front door locked!!! We were forced to wait until someone decided to come to work, making us very late and behind on our schedule. Very strange? I am not sure what would happen in a fire?. Room too small and no bath - definitely needed after long walk. Also too small for 2 with dog. After a 6 hr drive the room wasnt ready at 2 pm we waited approx 1hr. I had reserved a table by the main window on the Saturday night for a special occasion. On the night I had been given to someone else. Very upsetting and I had to make alternative arrangements.the price.
