In the charming Lake District village of Coniston, less than 0.5 miles from Coniston Water, The Crown Inn has a relaxed pub and bright rooms. Guests have free membership to a local health club with a pool. Traditionally styled, each room has high quality mattresses, a satellite TV and a private bathroom with a bath or shower. Free tea and coffee, a hairdryer and a telephone are also included. A menu of classic British dishes, including home-made pies, is served in the pub bar and dining room. The Crown Inn also offers freshly cooked full English breakfasts, with food made using local produce where possible. Langdale Country Club is a 10-minute drive from the Inn. Guests have free access to its large heated pool, steam room, whirlpool spa bath, with spa treatments also available. The Coniston Old Man fell is a mile away, offering beautiful views and hill walks.

We have stayed at the Crown Inn on a number of occasions and always enjoy our stay. Coniston is a lovely location, the staff at the Crown Inn always make visitors very welcome, and the food is great. The quality of food and relaxing atmosphere after a stiff days walk. The staff were all prepared to go the extra mile and helped to make what was one of the most enjoyable weekend breaks I have had.

Friendly staff Comfy bed. frendly and clean. Great location. The busy local pub atmosphere was what we had hoped, however poor vegetarian choices, no vegetarian option at breakfast. Mattress was a bit saggy! plus would have liked a seperate shower as I have difficulty getting into/out of the bath without help Other than those two thinks everything was lovely. Nothing!. Shower was poor. shower was a bit lightweight. This is the third time i have stopped here, the food has gone from good old pub food at a reasonable price to overpriced small restaurant meals. I would suggest eating at one of the other pubs in the village. Bed was too small for us. Noisy room with the sound of a tv blaring out until the early hours, possibly from staff quarters or the kitchen. Didn't sleep well. Food was bland, ate there once at dinner then went elsewhere. Very weak coffee. This was not confined to the Crown as the coffee shops we tried also seemed to be economising. Cappuccino was more like hot watery milk! Otherwise the food was good. Nothing. liked everything. There was nothing that upset us. We had a really good stay at the Crown. Lack of comfortable chairs in room,minor niggle. only thing was the matteress was very hard. Broken door closure on fire door putside our room was VERY noisy especially when it woke us at 3am! As room was situated above bar it was very noisy. Breakfast service second morning very slow 35 mins for cooked. very bland poorly presented full english breakfast.dogs in the bar and upstairs in the rooms.I wanted to go for a walk early in morning (7am) and doors locked.
