  Manaar House is definitely one of the best places to stay in Durban/Umhlanga. We stayed there for three nights in the self Catering Apartment. The a/c duplex unit was extremely spacious, spotlessly clean, nicely furnished and well maintained. But the best thing to report was the warm, generous and very welcomi - As a couple with young kids, it was an absolute dream staying at Manaar House as it was so kid friendly that our kids did not want to go out because of the toys provided in our section of the house!   We simply loved this place, everything about it. Great rooms, they smell so nice and fresh :-) nice facilities, beautiful garden. Cathy and John are excellent hosts and made our stay very enjoyable. Gave us great restaurant tips and we could just listen to John's storries all day long. We didn't want to leave. Btw, breakfast is a must.   We spent 6 nights at Africa Regent while holidaying in Durban, and cannot fault it! The grounds are beautiful, the room immaculate and the wonderful hosts, David and Pam, are friendly and attentive. I would definitely go back there some time in the near future.
