Nice Motel, friendly staff, a huge room with spa bath. The manager was extremely friendly, courteous and most helpful. The location of this Motel is great. Within easy walking distance to shops, rsa Club with the best meals and cheap as there! We enjoying staying here for 2 nights and the facilities were above our expectations. We had bad weather but the manager offered us a video recorder, plus movies which was very welcomed and made us feel right at home. Top class - 10 out of 10 Dolphin Mote.
todos opiniões » loved the roominess of the apartment - ideal when travelling with a toddler who likes to run around. Also loved the separate bedrooms and full kitchen. Really loved being greeted with a free beer or softdrink, and free wifi. Also the added mile Paul went to pay our toll for us - saved us having to stop if the baby was asleep. Thank you Paul. Great location within easy walk to everything, and great recommendation about meals at the RSA. Paul was very helpful and keeps a tidy motel. Lovely that the location was just at the end of the main street where you can access lovely fresh baked food early in the morning and you are only a five minute walk to the pier to meet your potential boat outing. There was a ceiling fan in our room but the rooms stayed cool enough without it. We were really surprised, we had booked last minute, and had liked the look due to the low cost, we were amazed at the friendly great service, the rooms very very nice and the quality of the bathroom was impressive,really couldn't fault the place, would not hesitate to stay here again - very happy what a nice end to our holiday. We were amazed at what good value for money the motel was. Paul, the owner/manager couldn't have been nicer, the rooms were way better than expected, better than many 3/4 star hotels in the uk with a few nice little touches (fresh milk on arrival being one). We wouldn't hesitate to go back and to recommend it. The whole experience of staying at the Dolphin Motel was amazing. The Manager was very friendly,helpful,and made us very welcome,(even a bevy waiting for us on arrival!!) parking the boat not a problem. The unit was very comfortable and great daily service, ensured a feeling of being looked after. To start with we liked the welcome we received from Paul which included a complimentary beer. Paul went out of his way to ensure that we were happy. The proximity to the sea and shops is very central but not on a busy road, perfect! The room was extremely clean and comfy. Close to shops and restaurants and a short wander to the wharf and ferry to Russell. All very good, value for money, very clean and tidy, Paul was very helpful and friendly, put us in a 2 bedroom unit although we had only booked a 1 bedroom unit, quiet location, within easy walking distance of all facilities. Great service, and came each day to check if we needed anything and serviced the rooms daily. Outstanding and friendly Warm welcome and a friendly goodbye. Would recommend in an instant. It was great to arrive on a hot day and to find we had ceiling fans in all rooms, also waiting for us was a cookie time biscuit each which was unexpected, the room was also very nicely made up and spacious. The receptionist Paul was very friendly and helped us with booking the Dolphin cruise when we were in need of doing so. He was so friendly and accomodating. Room was good. Minutes walk to beach. A little noisy at night but nothing that kept us awake. Loved the kitchen, didn't use it but looks fantastic. We were so busy having fun in Paihia that our boys (7 & 9)didn't get a chance to use the play equipment within the school grounds (just opposite). Nothing at all. Only one small thing was that there was a strong smell of cleaning products in the units. Maybe less perfumed ones with a lower chemical odour should be tried. Nothing to dislike. Light in kitchen needed to be brighter. The next morning we left early and did not know what to do with the key so left it in the room. We were told we left the place in an untidy condition when we actually left it clean. No big pans in the kitchen. The internet in our room didnt work. We had to go outside to use it. Some router issue. Tile floors looked great but were very slippery, was a wet and wild night outside and this made it quite dangerous walking through the unit. Nothing. Can't fault the motel at all. Did have a large group of noisy backpackers move in next door on my 2nd night. Can't blame the motel for inconsiderate neighbours. The free WiFi service was quite a bit slower and inconsistent compared to other motels I have stayed during this road trip; I was able to connect to a 'hot spot' I had a subscription for via another motel in the vicinity and this was considerably faster and consistent. Nothing!!. Have no complaints. It was all good. There was nothing we did not like. Nothing. Would go back. Rooms should have little bed side lights so when one can 't sleep ,easy to have a read without disturbing the other person in bed . quantities of crockery- only 2 of each(had friends over for a cup of tea but not enough cups). The steep narrow steps to the upper level are difficult when carrying suitcases. The rooms were noisy due to the closeness to the property next door and the late-night arrival of guests. Location such that most of the units backed onto private house with very noisy permanent residents. Loud talking and music disturbed sleep at night. We stayed 3 nights but room service didn't top up room supplies each day. Fresh towels were not hung up, rather just piled on the lounge suite for us to do. Use of internet - should have wifi. Free internet hard to lock into. Nothing. Nothing. none. no coffee plunger (very disappointed) shower curtain does not work properly, flooded the bathroom. Just that they didn't clean the bathroom when we were staying, but actually we didn't really know if it was included in the rate.
