My husband and I have just returned from 6 days in Penang. We chose Traders as it was close to the bus terminal and shops which was very convenient. We never used taxis as the bus system there is exceelent so it's easy to get around the main sites by bus at very cheap prices. The rooms are very clean. The idea of not having a lot of carpeting is good as the room doesn't feel dusty.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. You feel like in 5 star hotel, altough the price was only like 3 star hotel. Room was nice and big. The vibrant Balinese architecture & variant interior finishing showed personal touch from the owner. Love our room!!! It's so beautiful!!! Love the bathroom too!!! We noticed that the owner made an effort to create ponds & plant/reserve existing trees albeit a small compound. Location away from the city with beautiful view of the sea & the city centre. We came early and the front desk staff allowed us to check-in 2hrs before the normal time as soon as the room was vacant. It's really great since we are very tired from our long bus travel.
