  The Shinagawa Prince Hotel is actually a complex of 4 different buildings and each one has different amenities, E.G., our hotel didn't have an ice machine anywhere in the building but our friends who were staying in another building did have one. They also had free wi-fi and we had free ethernet (which doesn't do you much good with an iPhone or iP... o que as pessoas dizem » ad). They stored our bags and our friends bags (10 of them) without a fee and without batting an eye. - The hotel has many wings and rooms with different profiles. The cheaper ones are standard Japanese business hotels, i.e. very small, cheap, functional. The more expensive ones give more space and luxury. Both offer good (if not extraordinary) value for money IMHO. The unique selling point of this hotel is that it's a 3min walk from Shinagawa station from which you can get Shinkansen to Kyoto/Osaka, and Yamanote for pretty much anywhere.

  We chose the hotel for its good connection to Narita Airport Access Line for our last days in Japan. Kurama Station is only a few minutes away. The staff was extremely friendly and supportive. We had trouble with a broken suitcase and they managed the exchange for us, so that we could enjoy the day in Tokyo. It is a standard business hotel, like you find everywhere. The restaurant was very nice. It was close to Asakusa Station. The temple and market is in 10 min walking distance. Good train connection to explore the city. The area can be a bit quiet in the evening.

  This Capsule Inn is in a wonderful location if you want to see any of the big sights in Tokyo; almost everything we wanted to see was a very short train ride, or at most 25 minutes, away. We were met by English speaking staff--actually, - I enjoyed trying for the first time the "capsule"; it's rare to find Capsule hotel for woman and this one is really great value for money. Of course because there's a lot of people in one spare big room, if some ones are noisy and no respectfull you can have some difficult sleep but anyway it's so nice, clean and original that it's really my favorite place for staying in Tokyo ! ANd the common bathroom is so clean, so nice, with a big bath, and shampoo, and all for free ! Towel as well and tea,

  Location - very close to Ueno station, sauna facilities (I started and ended every single day in there - they are brilliant), cleanliness, cost and the "relax" room - basically, a room full of very comfortable easy chairs with blankets and individual tv to kick back after the sauna (or really, any time you like). They are comfortable, cool and clean and I could have stayed there muc - Great, efficient, very friendly, clean. Note that there isn't wi-fi but there's a computer to use.
