  Superior view of shy Mt. Fuji. Friendly and helpful staff. Very large room, especially in Japanese standards. Room had a TV (only japanese stations as far as I have seen), free Wifi, fridge. Hotel has a coin laundry. Some restaurants and supermarket nearby.   The staff were very friendly and satisfied all our wishes. The dinner and breakfast were incredible value for the price. The baths are nice and you might be lucky enough to spot Mt Fuji through the clouded windows. We stayed at a Japanese style room, a bit basic but quite ok for the price. You can rent bicycles which I would certainly encourage you to do if you stay longer, as going around the lake with the - Great getaway location from the southern part which is crowded and touristy. The owner provides free shuttle to and from kawaguchi-ko station so distant location is not an issue at all. The owner is friendly and is keen to help with any questions should they arise. He's very adept in speaking english too and that helps alot. Each guest (or party of guests) get assigned 45 minutes of private hot bath at no additional cost. The lounge has fireplace that is lit up in the night. Wonderful atmospher

Dinner at hotel must book 1 day before , but if you arrive before 8pm there is a japanese restaurant just 100m away and very good. Bus from Shinjuku 1700 Yen is most convenience just 2 hours, forget about JP pass.   All of it. The facilities (really traditional Japanese), all the small things were think about. The service, they even took care of our almost left-behind passports and left-behind goods. They picked us up at the Kawaguchi station. They bring us back to Kawaguchi station any time we have to go there. The staff can speak English good. The - 5 course dinner to the room was an amazing experience. Our bedroom was facing mt. Fuji, even though it wasn't the most expensive option. We went for a Japanese style room, it was comfortable and relatively spacious. Onsen is facing lake Kawaguchi. It's well equipped and spotless. You get to wear Japanese dressing gowns, pyjamas and slippers. We asked for a converter, they didn't have it but they kindly lent us their own iphone5 charger.

  Pension Kamifusen is a place well-worth the stay for the night at Kawaguchiko. We received a lot of help and understanding from the owners, despite our inability to communicate effectively.
