The Spiga d'Oro was a great farmhouse in the heart of Tuscany. It was conveniently located so that we were able to do some wonderful day trips within a reasonable drive: Florence, Arezzo, Siena, Cortona, Montepuliciano. The accommodations were great. Our kitchen was well-equipped and they offered a welcome basket of essential provisions; however there was a very nice little grocers in a small town about 1Km away if needed. The location is fabulous, truly relaxing and all we could have asked for after five days in Rome! The apartments are very well run, beautifully furnished, a great place to return to after a days sightseeing. The pool and gardens are lovely - very sad to leave - I would highly recommend this property, we didn't want to leave! -

We were exceptionally pleased with the flexibility of the owner as we
arrived later than planned and she guided us right to the hotel. Cinzia
was actually willing to drive down, meet us and lead us up if we needed
her to. Besides being wonderfully accommodating, she also made several
great suggestions for dining and shopping. Cinzia was so friendly she
immediately made us feel right at home. A terrific experience and well
worth the trip.

We initially booked 7 days and ended up staying for 15. The location was perfect; close to Sienna (15 min) and easy access to day trips in the wine regions to the south.
