We had travelled to Siracusa partly to make day trips to beaches to the south, but Musciara's beach is so clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view out to sea and Ortygia, that we could have spent all our time there and been very happy. Ortygia is a - This was....Paradise! An oasis of rest in the bustling life of Siracusa. Nice and friendly staff. Although only 3stars rated, it is worth a 5 star resort. The only one with a private beach, it was just great to start our trip there. For the boys they even could use a kayak which they enjoyed. Breakfast was amazing when comparing with Italy standards.

  Loved the reception, both staff and room. When they gave us a ceramic bottle of water "old style, works by evaporation to keep the water cold", I knew we had landed somewhere "real". This was quite a find, and perhaps 2 kilometers from the ruins at Agrigento.   Everything about our stay was ideal and perfect. We absolutely loved the hospitality that Guido and Ada provided, as well as their entire team. The beautifully decorated rooms in such a stunning setting, together with incredible food and wine, plus all the special little touches (such as fresh flowers in the room and even a chocolate bunny on East... o que as pessoas dizem » er!) were done in such great taste and thoughtfulness. The fruit and vegetables grown on site were amazing to enjoy for breakfast (especially the fres - The attention to detail was amazing. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. The country setting was lovely. The only problems we had were returning at the end of a days outing in the car as the GPS did not pick up all the small roads. A very detailed map is important to have. As well there are one way streets in the nearby towns so you don't always follow the same routes leaving the hotel and returning to it.
