  Reception staff very courteous and helpful. Gave us a free upgrade and let us check in our room early. Room facing the race track is really nice. very spacious and modern. Although the hotel is situated in the middle of nowhere, it is very close to the Autostrada and just a short drive to Ortigia Indoor pool is nice.   This "grande dame" of a hotel, while somewhat dated in appearance, is in a fabulous location right on the waterfront in Ortigia - the historic center of Siracusa. Parking is easy and reasonable-a huge plus if you're driving. The rooms aren't huge, but are quite comfortable; housekeeping standards are excellent.
