Use to be a convent in the 17th century and was interesting to stay there. Had a room with a balcony and could enjoy watching life in the neighborhood from it. Was an eldery lady that lowered a bucket from her balcony and the delivery boy put a pizza in it and she raised it up 3 stories and took it out!

Fantastic hotel with great staff. We arrived early and were able to check straight in. The hotel is quiet and spotless, easily the cleanest I have stayed in whilst travelling around Italy for 5 weeks. Upon returning to Hotel Rivamare, we were so warmly welcomed, it felt like coming home to family. Our beautiful oceanview room with terrace was clean, quiet and very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice and eating on the terrace in front of the sea was exceptional. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Ischia and, already, I can't wait to return. Thank you all for a wonderful stay.

Breakfast was included with our room and was very delicious. There is a hot tub on the roof of the hotel with an amazing view of night time Pompeii. We were met at the reception by 'Gina' who was courteous and pleasant. We were offered a glass of proseco in the garden, taking in the view of Capri, while we waited for our room. The hotel is located on a very scenic spot of Sorrento, on a cliff. My wife like the decoration and setting of the hotel, she ranked it the best hotel. This comment is not light considering we have traveled a lot over the past 30 years. The restaurant is one of the highlights of the hotel. They make gorgeous, delicious food at a very reasonable price. We stayed 5 days there and it was a very pleasant stay. Will recommend to anybody traveling to Sorrento.
