Torretta ai Sassi - Fotos
O que as pessoas dizem
The very best place we stayed in this Province ! We absolutely loved our stay at Ai Torretta. We were traveling with my parents on a special trip and Mario and Valentina couldn't have made us feel more welcome and comfortable. The property is charming with by far the best and most magical view of Matera. The breakfast was home made by Mario's wife from some of the freshest sources in Matera and every delicious and subtle detail was appreciated. Valentina spent the entire afternoon with us . todos opiniões »
We travelled 3 weeks through the Basilicata and liked every moment of it. But Matera and the Torretta ai Sassi B&B were the absolute highlights of our trip. We thank Ms and Mr Focaccia for their warm welcome, their tips on places to visit and the interesting discussions we had over the present and the past. If a place ever deserved 10 points, its certainly the torretta with its beautiful rooms, the excellent breakfast and the breathtaking view over the old town, the gravina river and the ca.
Fantastic place to stay. Spectacular views on Matera in the evening and in the morning and during the whole day. This is really the best decision to stay here and then just to go for a walk and get lost in the mistereous streets of the city. Mario is very helpful, friendly and nice. The breakfast is delicious (with fresh fruits and cheese) and it's two times more tasty with the view. The rooms are comfortable and so clean that I have no other place to compare to. Perfect.
This is truly "HEAVEN on EARTH". The cleanliness and
hospitality is impeccable. The location is great but the breafast is one
that you will never forget. Thank you again for making our stay so
memorable - we truly felt like we have made lifelong friends and look
forward to returning.
FRIENDS ARE LIKE STARS - YOU DON'T ALWAYS SEE THEM BUT YOU KNOW THEY ARE ALWAYS THERE.
The views from the terrace /cliff are epic. You can see the whole magical town. Matera is a very picturesque town with many B&Bs, and I feel like we got the best one. Its a medieval tower, the location is great, you step right down into the Sassi/caves district. Our room was clean and modern, with great shower. Breakfast excellent, everything home made.
This B&B is the best we have ever stayed and it has the perfect location in Sassi. Beautiful paranorma view at the terrace, rich breakfast... The owner is a very kind and friendly person. The location is not difficult to fine, there are a lot of signs alone the way. We feel very comfortable staying there and feel like a home :-) . We will be back!.
I think this must be one of the best locations I've ever slept in.
The staff is extremely friendly and explains where to go, etcetera. The room is beautiful and feels like you're sleeping in a cave, only with all comfort you can wish for.
The breakfast is almost over-the-top; fresh made pies, cakes, fruit and what not. Perfect.
Nothing can prepare you for the most dramatic view of Sassi
imaginable...the view from your doorstep of this highly creative and
delightfully professional b & B. Owners Mario and Rozalie are
wonderfully helpful and determined to make your stay comfortable. We
stayed but an evening and will surely return!.
Solitude of the Tower Room. Knowledgeable and charming hosts.
Room decoration was calm and attractive, and just big enough for a few nights. The walled garden is coming along nicely with herbs and trees.
The outdoor terraces have a birds-eye view of the sassi, and great for reading in the afternoon sun.
Hosts are a credit to themselves and Italy. Homemade breakfast and best
views in the whole town probably. We stayed in the tower room. Compact,
nicely furnished, great views, many windows and/or good air con.
Lovely light bathroom and decor. Matera is strange but worth it and
Toretta is a great find.
As other guests have stated so clearly, this is a great place to stay in Matera. The owner is extremely helpful, the breakfast fabulous, the views fantastic, the room warm and comfortable (we stayed in Dec), and if we return to Matera, we will definitely stay at Terretta Ai Sassi again!.
the personalised yet disceet and kindly attention; first class facilities - of special interest due to current architectural issues of sustainable renovation
& overall aesthetics - and it is obvious that a gorgeous and diverse rainforest garden is in process on the upper level :).
Perfect location at the heart of the Sassi. The view for the terrace is breathtaking.
Very friendly and effective service. the Owner is not a true hotelier, but you just feel at home. The breakfast is way above Italian standards.
The friendly, joyful reception and service. Just as delightful was
the beauty and cleanliness of the whole property. And not to be
forgotten is the breakfast buffet - best croissants we've had in
2 months in Italy!.
Excellent welcome and indications on what to do. The owner explains about history of the city and makes you love it, giving a lot of added value to the simple stay. Views are amazing and rooms very cute.
Friendly welcome, fantastic view, great breakfast, unique experience sleeping in a renovated sassi.
Owner was very helpful in making suggestions for visiting city and explaining history of the sassi.
Excellent! Mario and Valentina are wonderful, gracious hosts... Great breakfast with many home-made items....Easy walking access to sassi and great restaurants for dinner... Highly recommend...
The location (definetely the best view of Matera), the wounderful
family, the clean, the outside terrace, the wonderful
Brekfast....everything just perfect!! Difficutl to find a better choice.
An amazing view from your room which is comfortable and spotless! The breakfast is very good, the hosts are very friendly and very dedicated! Do not consider going anywhere else!.
The position is great with the wonderful view of the Sassi.
The rooms are clean and comfi,
and the owner is super kind and happy to help with tips of where to go in Matera !!.
Great location; friendly, helpfull and interesting host; good breakfast; incredible panoramic view from the terrace.
Everything, great stay.
Incredible view, nice people.
The location, the view, the people, the food.
the owner suggestions and kindness.
Location is great.
Everyting.
Super view from the terrace.
I loved everything and disliked nothing !.
We had to go home boo.......
The place is a little hard to find, but this is common in Italy, so no biggie. Completely worth it!.
- Humidity in the room is not perfect for people with lung conditions, but that's obvious. We stayed one night, which was perfect to still be able to experience this gem.
- A bit hard to find due to the almost similar street names in and outside the sassi; but not a real problem.
Not a complaint but advise. First time visitors should have a good idea
of the location...via Casalnuovo runs parallel to via Lucana..and the
extended public parking on the left side of Casalnuovo should be used. A
small sign at Vico 1 points the way to this little piece of Camelot.
it is hard to identify anything of significance, but I was tired on arrival having had a stressful & hot train ride (= standing from Bari) + some difficulty finding the residence (not a problem as I like mystery), so a cup of tea or alternative refreshment would have been appreciated on arrival !.
Rooms are a bit small, but what else can you expect from a true grotto in the Sassi...
The cold windy weather which one can't control and having to leave
which is the nature of travel!.
A bit difficult to locate the first time with your own car.
Pack light rather than lug a large suitcase up the hill to the room.
Nothing.
During the booking process the hotel owner had promised us a special room to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Unfortunately he gave the room to other customers arrived five minutes before then us without giving an explanation. This was not so nice.
The attitude of the male member of staff I was ready to extend my stay he said they were full which wasn't the case as the rooms were still available on most websites.....very difficult to find hence phone in advance to be picked up.
