  We stayed at the Casanova apartment. The owner met us in the square where the apartment is and he was very friendly and showed us around the flat, gave us a map of the city, told us where the nearest vaporetto stop, supermarket etc is located. When I booked the place, reading all the reviews I was convinced there would be no - The apartment (vivaldi) was very clean and the staff friendly. They didn't have a booking for our last day so they let us check out at 6pm. The apartment is not only central but in a proper strategic spot, everything was only 5 minutes away. It was warm, comfortable and gave lots of privacy. The two bedrooms were on the opposite sides of the apartment. The best thing was the terrace on top of the roof. Also, I was sent directions by hotel staff in advance, so it was very easy to find the place (which usually can be quite tricky in Venice).   The hotel made us feel welcome even before we arrived by sending us an email giving us directions and general information. Once we did arrive the staff were very polite and friendly and we were pleased to find the the hotel was ideally located close to St Mark's Square, Rialto Bridge and Academy. Ca'Fortuny is also very close to several restaurants and shops - an ideal location! - Breakfast was very nicely tended and the staff was amazingly courteous at all times of the day (even late night). Rooms are very spacious and the bathrooms are newly renovated and very clean.

  Our room was basic but good value for money. We were in the heart of Venice, just a few minutes from St. Mark's Square and ideally located for everything we needed. Staff were friendly and helpful. - We left a pair of boots by mistake and we came back later to ask and they returned. The breakfast is ok. The staff is very helpful.
