Updated bathrooms, though small by American standards, had many unique features not usually seen in hotels in the usa. Very near top attractions and local cafés. I have stayed there 5 times over the last 5 years, and appreciate the unique and lush appearance of the hotel, but if you are into large spaces and cont - Our host Roberto, his wife and the staff were welcoming and took extra care of our needs. We booked two single rooms and sometimes in the past we have been allocated tiny, substandard rooms. The rooms at the Celio were charming, clean and the location between the Colosseo and Laterano was fabulous. This was the first time we have ventured out of the Trevi/Tritone area. (We go to Rome each year over past 15 years and this experience was one of our most enjoyable. Grazie Roberto!!

  The location was great if you like to walk(15-20minutes from piazza Popolo or Spagnia) or use the public transportation (direct lines to Vatican,Trastevere and Coloseum 5-10minutes walk away) it had also a taxi piazza 20m away. Great value for what it offered. Very helpful people. - Nice quiet neighbourhood, the hotel was an oasis of calm. There's a taxi rank 2 mins walk (top of road, turn right), and is only about 10-15 mins drive / 12-15 euro taxi fare to major attractions.
