To be truthful, this was the first time I have stayed in a B&B in Europe, (I usually stay in hotels) and I am happy to say that I would certainly stay at B&B Al Teatro di Porta Dipinta again. The owner Umberto was very helpful, friendly and respectful. The rooms were very clean (kitchen, bath and bedroom), the wifi worked perfectly, breakfast was a typical Italian breakfast and more than I could eat, there was a washer in the bathroom, and while the bed was comfortable and I slept sou. todos opiniões »
This is a great place to stay in Bergamo. The appartments are spacious (quite rare), with own bathroom, large bedroom, well equipped kitchen. The location is great - in the Old Town, very close to the Funicolare station, in the back court of an old building. The bus stop with a bus going directly to the airport is right opposite the street, so very convenient. Works both for a short, as well as a prolonged stay.The owner is really nice and very helpful in answering all kinds of questions. This .
The B&B is in a very good location within walking distance of the "old town". The apartment is spacious, light and spotlessly clean and the free WiFi worked well. Our flight was delayed, arriving late at night and Umberto kindly waited to transfer us to the apartment. He was very helpful and friendly and gave us good advice on how to get around. Breakfast was good with plenty of food including breads, cheese, meats and yoghurt. It is very good value for money and we recommend Umberto and h.
The person receiving us was extremely helpful, Umberto is the ones making this place having good reviews. Very helpful in any way, it helps us with our luggage, told us how to get around, where to get food and even tough we left a 4am where kitchen is closed, he left everything ready from day before for us, simply a service you will not get everywhere. The location is nice, very close from a historical part of bergamo, very nice to walk. Highly recomended.
Not your typical hotel, it is a separate newly renovated apartment with
everything you need, in a 1,300 year old building with a Renaissance
character. Well located for the old town. Friendly reception in good
english, thanks Umberto. Breakfast was fine. Wonderful and friendly
service including driving us to the airport very early on our day of
departure. Highly recommended.
Umberto was a lovel host. Our stay went without a hitch. The apartment is lovely, and though unfortunately for us the weather wasn't great during our visit, we came back to a warm and cosy apartment every evening. Breakfast is fresh but a little basic. The location can't be faulted - two minutes' walk from the main thoroughfare. I'd definitely recommend staying here.
The location is central in the old part of the town. The flat was spacious and clean with a 3-bed room, shower/toilet and kitchen/living room with 1 bed. Breakfast was very good. The English speaking owner Umberto was very open and helpful. Very flexible about transfer to/from the airport (20 min.). We highly recommend Umberto and his place.

this place is well positioned in Bergamo Alta and Umbergo is a great host. Nice breakfast at 4.45am and we were transferred to the airport but Umbergo for 20 Euro. The beds are pretty basic as is the room but good value for moneu.
Very atmospheric building. The rooms are actually suites, which are very comfortable despite the basic equipment. Very nice and helpful owner. Very close to the main sights, the bus stop, funicolare.
As a proof that we really liked Al Teatro Bergamo Alta, we stayed here for two more nights on our return stopover from Madrid to Thessaloniki. Again, thanks Umberto. We wish the best for you.
The apartment is in a great location and is spacious bright and clean.
Our flight home was at 7 am and the owner picked us up at 5 30 and
brought us to the airport for just 20 euro.

We ordered a room for three adults and got a room for two with a rollaway bed. The regular beds were not comfortable as well. The breakfast was a bit disapointing and there were noises starting early at morning.
