  Easily found at the top of OConnell and a little to the right, right above Fibber McGees. Couldnt have got better location for the money spent. Very clean room, dont be fooled by the old exterior, the rooms are modern, clean, and the breakfast is worth the early wakeup call. No hassle leaving our suitcase after midday checkout so we could get some shopping in before our 4 - I am very happy I stayed at the Gate Hotel, the service is wonderful, the location could not be better, I was treated with attention. It was my first time in Dublin and they explained to me how to reach to places, gave me full guidance and even helped me get the best spots for shopping. There is also an area downstairs that connects with local pubs that is very nice and you can hear live music or chill and have a beer in other pubs without having to move out of the hotel. I fully recommend it;

  Myself aged 31 and my mother of 65 years of age were looking for somewhere fairly central but away from the noise and that's just what we got! 10 minutes straight forward walk to shopping locations, Temple Bar, Central Bus Station, The LUAS and Connelly Train Station. We stayed there initially when we arrived in Dublin, then after touring Ireland for two weeks, we stayed there again before leaving for Wales. Would not have done this if we were not happy. Staff very helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, with everything on offer, and able to have as much as you wanted, if you needed it. Great location in access to the city.   Awesome hostel. Pretty nice considering the price. Right next to Temple Bar. There is a free walking tour that comes and picks up interested travelers in the morning. Breakfast comes with the booking and is actually pretty good. Met some pretty awesome people in my 12 person mens dorm ended up hanging out and making friends with them. Easy to find, and relatively comfortable. I was worried about security of my things before I got there, but once I arrived I felt it would be okay to leave items in my room and had no problems. Can't ask fora better price. $90USD for 3 nights in the heart of Dublin.

  Loved the room. (Room 202). When you went in the room door there was a living room area with 2 arm chairs, coffee table, fire place, TV, and an eating table with 2 chairs. Off that room was a small kitchen - the basics tea/coffee and ample storage. Next room was the bedroom. This was quite big with a very big comfy bed. I didn't avail o - Excellent value. I was worried about all the reports on noise, but it didn't bother me at all. It is fairly clear that it is going to be noisy anyway. Anyone complaining about this has been warned by other reviews and by the hotel's own website. It is ideal for anyone on a budget. Drinks were 2.50 at the bar and a large selection of meals from 6euro. If you prefer to be part of the party this place is great for you.
