The Franconia City Hotel was an easy 10 minute walk along the old city wall from he main train station. The rooms appear to be newly renovated and are clean and spacious enough even for an American used to big spaces. The breakfast bar had a wide variety of foods including fruits and fruit salad, plain and flavoured yogurt, breads and rolls, cheeses, cold cuts and lox, fresh veggies, hard boiled eggs, cereals and museli, and dried fruits and nuts to augment your choices. todos opiniões » The Hotel owner was lovely, helpful and inviting. The roomwas on the third floor and very clean. It appeared to have been recently refurbished as everything looked new. The beds were comfortable and we had a bath for a good soak. No elevator but I hate them anyway. The location was excellent. Right in the old town adn walking distance to everything. 2km up the road is the Nuremberg Trial Memorial. There is a parking station right across the road and there is no wa y you can miss this ho. It's a wondeful hotel. The owner, frau Kerstin Matkey, is very friendly and does everything to make your staying perfect. Our room was very large, beautiful and well-furnished. Wifi worked very well. Every morning we enjoyed a rich tasty breakfast in a cosy dining room. I had no hot water in the morning, the door to the balcony would not close properly, parking is opposte hotel in parkhouse which was expensive, only average breakfast. Although this hotel does represent value for money it is certainly not fabulous. It was a bit cold in the room. Heating did not work one night. There is a fire station in the yard. Each 2-3 hours through the whole night they turn on the loudspeaker and you are forced to wake up (even with closed windows). When we left towels on the floor (to change), the maid hung them back.
