Travellers Paradise. This 'Gite' is a lovely guesthouse with nice rooms, really comfy beds (ergonomic beds to position yourself perfectly for sleep!), clean and modern bathrooms and great character. We are 23 years old and stayed 3 nights. It was hot weather but the rooms stayed cool and had a quiet roof light fan for the night - very nice. The location couldn't be better, being close enough to the town centre to walk down in a few minutes but far enough out of the hussle and bustle and nois.
todos opiniões » We had a lovely experience at Christine and Bruno's place. It was much more than expected. Christine has gone to a lot of trouble decorating the room and making sure her guests are very comfortable. Both her and Bruno were very welcoming hosts and couldn't do enough for us. The accommodation is very close to the lovely picturesque town of Sarlat.It is within easy walking distance to the centre. This is truly value for money and I highly recommend It. We stayed in the self contained apartment which was very well appointed, and clean. Handy to the lovely old walled city of Sarlat- just 5 minutes walk. Staff very helpful in recommendations for somewhere to eat on a Sunday night. Great to have the instructions for getting there and parking as yes, the gps wanted to take us elsewhere! You cannot access the street by car from the end nearest the old city. This B&B was very nice, modern, yet in a very old house and with a lovely rooftop terrace. Be sure to get instructions as to how to get to the parking. Your gps will lead you to a street that is impassable. The location is perfect for visiting Sarlat, a lovely medieval city with wonderful markets and food. The landlady and her husband were very friendly and helpful. They especially appreciated that we kept them updated about our estimated time of arrival. The check out time was very flexible. We could choose to either take or not take breakfast. They tried very hard to speak some English for us. Bruno and Christine were lovely. Bruno picked me up from the train station. The room was very nice and the house had a good view. It was a 1 minute walk to the medieval town centre. I asked for eggs for breakfast and Christine cooked me some poached eggs to perfection. Very good location, at the center of the town and convenient to visit many sites; Madam Donne is extremely friendly and helpful, and, she speaks English too; the house is fully equipped, excellent for family stay. Location, staff, quirkiness, originality of decor, the radio which connected to the toilet light was great fun. Welcoming hosts. Great breakfast. Superb location near the centre of the town without being in it. Warm welcome from the proprietor - closeness to centre of Town - free parking close by. Owners were friendly and are trying very hard with this new venture. Updated bathroom, comfortable adjustable beds, helpful owners. friendly couple, easy access to old city, quite place,. Nothing.It was excellent. When we stayed, the owners required a cash deposit, which cost us a ridiculous amount of money to send from the U.s considering the cost of wiring money. It would help immensely if the owners accepted major credit cards. Accessibility to the upper rooms is daunting for older lodgers with luggage. The stairs are challenging, to say the least. There was nothing we did not like about this chamber d'hote. Bruno didn't have very good English, but it was OK because Christine's was fine. none. The shower was a bit too complicated for us old technophobes and we didnt quite get the hang of it. Arrangement of the shower is really hazardous, slippery and wet. Hills and stairs to climb, not good if you have lots of luggage. Streetlight outside window with insufficient windowshade to block it.
