  My partner and I chose to stay overnight at this hotel for its restaurant Le Royal. In the Michelin app it is listed as 'Traditionnel, Classique'. And that's exactly what it is. Good gourmet food for a very reasonable price; a three-course menu for under €30 is excellent value including a cheese trolley and/or dessert trolley! Overall the hotel is a bit dated but at the price is good value for mo - Our room (superior double) was good and the bathroom, huge but our friend's (single) room was very small. The hotel was conveniently placed to wander through the beautiful old town. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

  Efficiently run with very helpful staff, rooms are cleaned to a very high standard and the restaurant food is excellent. The cost of the rooms is very reasonable against this level of quality. - very nice room! very delicious restaurant! very good service! very beautiful view!

  Another fantastic night - always a treat to stay here. A great stopover enroute South or North. Lovely rooms, friendly staff and yet another amazing meal. We aim to come back and stay for longer just to look around Champagne. The village is beautiful and you can walk to champagne tastings in the adjoining villages. The restaurant Le Marius looked really good but we were disappointed that we didn't get to try it. Would recommend for any stay other than Sunday/Monday.

  After several years of increasingly disappointing experiences in France, particularly in French restaurants, this hotel succeeded in restoring my faith in French travel. The hotel is extremely modern, with all the advantages that gives, without any sense of corporate anonymity. Comfortable rooms and beds, and very, very clean. If I say th - Easy to find, spacious parking (both in front of as well as underneath the hotel). Large size rooms, with at the back rooms with view towards the town & countryside. Small balcony. Modern touch, feels a bit "cold". But you can always turn on the airco ! You can have dinner in the restaurant. Reasonable prices meals/drinks (or set menu's) for OK quality. ATAC supermarket around the corner towards town. Overall, OK for a one night stop on your way up north or down south. Not as a destination

  Very friendly welcome from the owners. We were too late for lunch in the restaurant, but we were provided with a lovely platter of cold meats, cheeses, salad, fruit and bread with wine, delivered to the table and chairs outside our room. We had an excellent meal in the restaurant in the evening, the owner chatted and had been a chef in London and Australia. V - This was a very charming country inn run by a very congenial host, Eddie and his wife. It was a flax mill in the 16th century later converted to a hotel in 1966. Eddie is a master chef and his kirchen reflects that with excellent food. One feels like he is deep in the French countryside, but Paris is only 90 miles to the north. Excellent day trips were made to Sens, Troyes, Auxerre, and Vezelay.

  Despite the hotel being right on a very busy main road, lots of lorries, our room at the back was spacious, clean, quiet and comfortable. Brilliant shower.The staff were excellent, particularly the young lady on Reception who spoke excellent English and showed us to our room. The evening meal at 18 Euros was an absolute revelation as was the sight... o que as pessoas dizem » of the diners avoiding what looked like a hole in the floor but was actually a glass panel into the wine cellar!!! An excellent menu and all of very - Booked this as an overnight stay on route from Calais to Alps. It was better than expected! Family room was large and well furnished with big ensuite (& jacuzzi type bath!). Swimming pool was a great bonus after 8 hours in the car. Lovely evening meal in the courtyard - reasonable set price for 3 courses. Gorgeous pastries for breakfast (we were up early so they tasted freshly baked).

  We have stayed here before,and found it an excellent over-night stay.Since our last visit, the owners have built a new extention block of rooms below the swimming pool and overlooking the town. These are very well appointed and comfortable, though may be noisy in full occupation. The food in the restaurant is first class,although, perhaps, a little pricey to some tastes.Essoyes itself is an interesting litt - Under new management and even better than ever! The restaurant which was very good on our past visits is now excellent and serving superb food at reasonable prices. Try the menu gastronomic @ €46. The selection of (local) champagnes is one of the best we've found in France and not overpriced. Altogether an excellent stopover in a charming small town.
