La Closerie des Trois Marottes was the surprise jewel of our trip to Paris! We wanted to stay in Melun while visiting Vaux le Vicomte and Chateau de Fontainbleau and were intrigued by the photos of the private gardens and unique rooms offered, as well as the very reasonable price, and decided to stay at a B&B instead of a big hotel. This hotel is perfect! I effectively had my own beautifully decorated
historic apartment with a huge comfortable bed in a bedroom looking over
a beautiful quiet garden. The modern ensuite was spotless with a huge
shower and excellent water pressure. The kitchen had a microwave and a
kettle and lots of tea coffee and biscuits. Also lovely lounge, hall and
toilet. All this for £90 would have been excellent value, but there was
more. The proprietors are a very kind hospitable couple who bent over

We arrived very late and our host, Marie Claude was so gracious and
accommodating. She offered so many wonderful suggestions to make our
trip memorable. The breakfasts were outstanding and the suite just
beautiful, romantic and very clean and comfortable. It is well-located
and close to Chateau de Fountainebleau and Chateau de Vaux le Vicomte.
The village is quaint and boasts wonderful cheeses. Marie Claude
recommended we get our tickets for the chateau at the tourist office at
a discount. A wo.
It was a house with garden which was very clean, and the garden was nice and beautiful. The host was very kind and nice and I should never forget her kindness. It is very close to town center.
Overall I recommend it if you want to stay in a house not a typical Hotel.
Central location and Pam, our host, was very helpful and very attentive. The breakfast was very delicious with homemade yogurt and jams.
If you are looking for renting a room in a beautiful and quaint house, this is the place for you.
The best hotel we stayed in during our trip through France - a jewel in the crown. Even has shower gel now so obviously listens to feed back! Fantastic hospitality don't be fooled by the exterior as an oasis once you enter.
Everything was terrific: the generous hospitality; the delicious homemade jams that accompanied a brilliant breakfast; the lovely walled garden; the beautifully appointed rooms. Marie-Claude and Guy have created a jewel.
Nicely located close to the historical center. Very warm and cozy small
apartments decorated with great taste. The host family is wonderful and
warm and makes you feel like family. Worth every euro!.

Out hosts were lovely and we enjoyed our stay. The location was perfect
to walk to the historic/older areas of Melun.

We wish we could have stayed longer.
Internet was there but I could not connect ( maybe something was wrong with my devise ).
The lights of corridors and entrance were not enough.
A tiny quibble: there were no sachets of shampoo or shower-gel in the walk-in shower.
I could not find anything to say in this box. Parking could be an issue
but then in our case the host lady allowed us to park right infront of
the entrance at the yellow line with no cost.
The only challenge we had came when it was time to pay. We have an
American credit card, and the terminal was not able to accept our mag-
stripe based card. We had to pay in cash.
A minor niggle. As the accommodation was comfortable and spatious enough for self catering it seemed strange there wasn't a small fridge.
