The owners, Felix and Maribel, went above and beyond what would normally
be expected of the hotel proprietors. We had gotten very ill during our
stay, from food poisoning (food from a restaurant, not the hotel's
food), and were too sick to drive. Felix took us to the emergency
clinic, and waited for us the entire time, and then twice to the

It is family run but it really comes down to - always friendly -
Anthony who runs the place just brilliantly. He helps where ever he can
and comes up with suggestions to make the best of your stay; just
brilliant! The room and bathroom are both really specious (mine was)
and breakfast is good and sufficient. Stayed 4 nights and was very glad
to have found this place. Would really recommend it, especially for the
very good service!

The location was ideal as traveling alone and without a car. Could walk
safely and reach galleries, the village of Santa Elena, but quite the
steep hill to reurn to the hotel. I also appreciated use of the Poco a
Poco pool which walk a short walk. Office staff was always helpful with
booking tours or getting guidance of the Monteverde region. -

and gave us all information about the different parks, restaurants etc.
and helped us whenever they could. In addition, we did not think the
hotel is too far from city center, it is still walking distance and we
liked to be more in the nature than blended by neon lights. -

The hotel was in a perfect location, just a few meters outside the town
center and close to the monteverde reserve. The surroundings and the
view were so beautiful and we regretted not staying another night. The
staff helped a lot to organise tours for us and give us information. -

Loved having a balcony off 2nd floor room. You could sit outside even in torrential rain. Very private and could view birds. Saw a blue-crowned mot mot up close. Could also leave the balcony doors open all night with just screens closed. In July, we needed to do this. Otherwise room would have been too close. We asked for an extra fan even though

The staff was excellent and gracious. The grounds were beautiful and beeakfast was very good. I it was right next door to a great butterfly garden that i highly reccommend. Tthe location of the inn is excellent as it is on a forested hillside with a view even to the ocean. The property is also inhabited by a wide range of wildlife from coatis to butterflies. Breakfast is nice and so are the owners.

Owner and staff were very accommodating and very friendly--they went out of their way to assist, make recommendations and made us feel very comfortable and at home. Breakfasts were excellent!!!
