This trip was for a funeral, didn't know the area, and felt welcomed by the family staff. They were very accommodating, however, the city was very busy because of the Triathlon that weekend, and because we could not have a room without stairs, they gave us access to their private patio. We liked Friendly Staff at The Plaza Motel. Also Location was very convenient with all Fast food places nearby and both Sakha lake and Okanagan lake were located within minutes from the motel.

Friendly staff( owners ). The cost was reasonable and the location central. Just for relaxing after a long trip. Quiet and clean enough. There is not much I can say I liked. It was just a place I picked from a long list where I could sleep for 2 nights and which did not cost me an arm and a leg. I made a mistake, I should have looked more and spend an extra $20.00 in one of the more modern motels. Very quiet (almost no one else at the motel), central location, easy access. The Staff was very nice and accomidating. the pool but It was always locked. Room was clean. Nothing. The beds were hard, and the toilet didn't flush very well. Water pressure and temperature controls in the shower. Lack of space in the room and lack of kitchen stuff (forks, spoons, mugs, glasses, etc.). Television was old and no movie channel. very smokey for a non smoking room. People smoking under the air conditioner going into room. Bathroom needs upgrading badly. Room was narrow and small. There was no closet or hooks to hang clothes. Bed was hard. Fridge was so cold food became frozen & ruined. Windows don't open so you have to run a fan or leave the door open / layout was a bit strange with a small TV by the door / toilet and sink plumbing needed some fixing / they allow cooking right outside the doors and next to the parking lot and somebody decided to clean a barbecue a few inches from my car - dumb. It is the typical 2 story walk up motel similar to those I stayed in 50 years ago when I did a lot of forestry work around Penticton. Then, I did not have a choice where I stayed even if I did not like the place. It is poorly designed for to-days traveller. Our room hadn't been updated in decades--I felt like we were in a time machine back to the 1970's, very basic (rustic) furnishings. Kitchenette had almost no cutlery/ dishes, etc. We had to ask for an extra pillow, extra cutlery, pool towels, etc. The suite we got was had a kitchenette but the stove was not in very good condition nor did the oven feature work. The sink area had a leak. Suite was not worth the price for what we paid for. Really suggest renovations are required to be worth the amount paid. No microwave. No utensils or cutlery or crockery. Build up of dust, cobwebs. Cupboards wouldnt close. Needs to be upgraded especially in the kitchen. The price should have been more along the lines of a cheaper motel 6. Have paid 25% less to stay in Holiday Inn Express or Marriott Fairfield which were much more up to date and maintained. Fridge is not working & smell so bad. Room is not clean & dusty and shower - you can't even adjust the hot & cold water. I will never ever stay in that motel again.
