We got a free upgrade to the best room with spa bath and since no one else was booked that day - had the whole house to ourselves. It's really original in medieval style - slanted floors, antique furniture and even had a spooky feel to it which we thought was awesome! The location is literally 30 steps away from St. Catherine street so it's really close to all amenities and Old Montreal. These A+ and is highly recommended in terms of value!. todos opiniões »
The building is very cool and the rooms are extremely comfortable. The
hostess was not only a great chef, but fun to talk to. She had an
extremely extensive knowledge of the city - sites, stores, restaurants -
and made our stay in Montreal one to remember. We will stay here again
when we take another vacation to Canada. There are tons of places to see
and things to do within walking distance.
This is a super B&B. Bitina, who manages it, couldn't have been
any better. She prepared delicious breakfasts and kept the facility
spotless and comfortable. Her recommendations for touring the city were
excellent. Montreal's biggest festivals take place only a few blocks
away from this B&B. And don't forget Chinatown and The Village
are both almost on the B&B's door steps.
I loved the lovely Victorian house! It was historical but still
comfortable. The breakfasts they served were delicious and with lots of
choice. Bettina, the hostess, had a lot of helpful information and what
she didn't know, she found out for us. Very nice!.
Our room was spacious , clean, and bright. The breakfasts were homemade, delicious. The hosts were very accomodating and helpful with directions or anything we needed.
Unique b&b. had a good nights sleep, bed comfortable, and Bettina is an excellent host, her crepes were Awesome.
I loved Bettina and the staff! They were so accomadating and helpful! The downstairs room was AWESOME!.
I love the Victorian interior design. Very elegant and beautiful!.
Great hostess, personable, good cook, and knowable, and helpful about
the city ....comfortable quiet, room.. Centrally located.
The bedroom, bathroom, parlor and dining area were pretty clean and
comfortable.
Parking was difficult to find as is the situation with any city. The
building was a little tricky to find as well (we ended up driving past
it 10 times before seeing it). There were homeless people on the road
but not a single one bothered us.
There is construction going on on the building behind and they began
work very early - maybe around 6am. It was really noisy. Also, the house
next door is a type of soup-kitchen and the patrons hung out on the
street all day and most of the night. When we first arrived and had to
walk past them, we were a little nervous!!.
The building was definitely difficult to find, but once you do, it's easy to navigate!.
The only trouble that I had was that this hotel doesn't have parking space. My friend and I had to drive around and find parking location.
The neighborhood seemed to have a lot of drug addicts, although none of
them bothered us. Toilet didn't flush initially but it was fixed by
the time we got back from dinner. Contact with the proprietor was
sketchy about the booking, and receipt.
If you are looking for hospitality, this is not the place. We never saw
the owner; the only time we saw the only employee, a very nice young
woman, was when she cooked breakfast. If not for the couple staying from
overseas, we would have felt totally alone. Not safe for seniors:
outside railing & stairs need to be fixed, only one rail going up
winding inside stairs. We have stayed at many B&Bs, domestic and
abroad, and were greatly disappointed in this one.
