Reco - Having read many reviews beforehand, it is known that the hotel itself is not in the Hallstatt downtown and does not have a lake view. However, it is strategically located: 1) very near the bus stop and downtown, yet without all the noise; 2) roads to the hotel are flat, no problems for people towing luggages; 3) has a carpark; 4) virtually beside the saltmine cable station and near a waterfall.   Room decor outstanding and very comfortable. Traditional Austrian style with gorgeous woodwork throughout. Cost was very reasonable for such a beautiful place. The views of the surrounding mountains and lake are breathtaking, although from this location they are interrupted by other buildings. Staff able to speak English which was an help. Fresh trout - Friendly staff who spoke English fairly well, a clean room with a partial view of the water and town (and the next building) and a great restaurant downstairs. They also offer (included in room) a good breakfast of cheeses, breads yogurt and cereal, etc.

  Very cosy and homy hotel with a long-long history. We have booked a room with a nice lake and mountain fantastic views. We have arrived late in the evening and the owners were waiting for us. Despite the fact that parking in the city is allowed only in special parking lots outside the center of the city (one should use free of charge shuttle bus)... o que as pessoas dizem » we had an oppurtunity to park our car just at front of the hotel door.
