We loved the Island: in fact we wished we could live their as we liked it so much. "Not your typical people:" everyone was friendly and happy, inviting (no in your face type people or look at me, or us - not showy - quite private and inviting atmosphere (completely unlike the Florida Keys, which I have great disdain for, except its beauty). The proximity to the beach was key for me. Our room
overlooked a pool area with a clear view of the water and sunsets beyond. It was lovely. The hotel was built in the 1960s; however, it has been updated very adequately. I wanted to stay in a place with some history, and I got exactly that! It was delightful. There were clearly people there who had been visiting for years!
