Shelter Island and the Pridwin were exactly what we expected and wanted for our first vacation in almost 7 years. The hotel is not what one would call luxurious or fancy, but the perfect picture of a quaint, comfortable vacation destination. The staff were really friendly and eager to help us find activities and features on the island that we would like. The hotel looked exactly like the pictures on their website. The complimentary breakfast buffet was ample and delicious.
wszystkie opinie » I liked the location, the various pretty settings indoors and out with magnificent views of the water, great landscaping, spacious lawns, a secluded pool, and amenities such as bikes and canoes. Nice quaint setting for a quiet getaway. Grear Location, pool was nice,. Location location location. The food was delicious. Good food. Good location nice staff. View situation. The Breakfast The outside terrace. Our room was a bit smaller than we expected, but the view was gorgeous and the comfortable bed made up for it. The walls are pretty thin and the Wednesday night barbecue could have been disruptive, but we were forewarned and the party ended promptly at 11:30 as promised...and it was fun to see so many people from all over the island celebrating together. Unfortunately our room was just above three air conditioner compressors and the noise annoyed us. Next time we will check the room location before going in. Small bathroom needed updating. A/c was noisy. We the were informed the day before we arrived that the restaurant and bar would be closed for a private party. Hotel staff said that letsbookhotel.com should not have rented out the room. They offered to accomodate us for another weekend but we already made plans to be out there that weekend. The bathrooms need to be updated. Hotel is very outdated and over 300$ for one night was expensive for what we got. Our dinner waitress was aweful. I had to ask 3 times for a beverage which I finally received when my dinner was finished. She never came to our table to see how things were when we received dinner until we were on our last bite. The we'd nite bbq was a farce way overbooked with food lines over 40 minutes. Complete chaos. Would never do it again. Pridwin does not know what it is the staff think luxury,however It's more super 8.Parts of it are like a youth club,1st impression it needs a major overall.Beds very comfortable but the whole Place is run by students who do not care,breakfast is on par with super8,but you have no Facility to make a coffee in your rooms,Overall very overpriced paying for the view.
