I stayed here very recently for six nights while attending a conference downtown. Let me say it was totally worth the extra effort and cost in cabs to get downtown ( half hour by bus, 15 minutes 13 bucks by cab). The staff is friendly, courteous, and professional, from the cleaning staff, valet parking attendants, front desk folks and management. I get the feeling people love their jobs and want to deliver good service to the guests. The bar downstairs is awesome and deserves its own review. On

I was very welcomed here in lieu of the fact that 90pct of the clientele
here was half my age. Great atmosphere and location here. If you are
truly friendly, open minded and enjoy meeting new people this is a great

It is only six blocks to the bay and all the tourist activities there, six blocks to Little Italy, two blocks to beautiful Balboa Park, and a couple of miles from San Diego Airport. Service was good, the room was clean and spacious. It was a bargain. We'll stay there again. -

The staff is very friendly and helpful. Our suite was very clean with a balcony overlooking the pool and on the right spot for a late afternoon sunshine. It lacked a corkscrew, I asked for it and is was brought to the room within 5 minutes.
And the best: the location! Vibrant Hillcrest accross the street, a new Vons 5 min walking and close to all major roads.

This was my 18th hotel in 30 days and was the best. The gaslight district is a short walk and there is heaps to do in the area. The staff went out of there way to advise on things to do. The room was spacious and clean and the bed was very comfortable. The TV was modern, sound and picture good. There was a small table so I was able to work for several hours quite comfortably. I observed at least a half-dozen fast food restaurants and one upscale restaurant and a couple of take-outs, all within a half-dozen blocks. The heart of downtown San Diego is within 15 minutes walking distance.
