Out of context the rate seems a little bit expensive... But we compared
with so many other hotels in the area, and I really think this was the
best hotel for this price range! The location was amazing - north beach
on one side and chinatown on the other; walking distance to
fisherman's wharf... We really felt like we were in the heart of the
city.

I did like they offered breakfast which other hotels in the area
didn'T. Breakfast was simple: cereals, breads, juices, boiled eggs.
The price was good compared to others in the area. I liked the location,
I wouldn't normally stay in "china town" but I enjoyed the
experience. One street over is North Beach, which isn't a
"beach". More appropriate name should be "little
italy"; very good italian restaurants. I would stay here again if
the prices stayed the way they were.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room, while rather small, was
clean and neat. The bathroom, while very small (I've had larger
bathrooms on cruise ships), was also clean, neat and stocked with

The Room was great. Very Clean. Hotel front desk woman with an accent
wasn't warm, but helpful. The guy who worked the front desk on
Saturday night was awesome. The art going up the staircase looked like a

The location of the Baldwin Hotel is just great - literally steps from Chinatown's main gate and only one block from Union Square and public transportation. The hotel was really nice and clean, the staf was very friendly - they allowed us ti check in already at noon without being alerted beforehand. The breakfast is simple but fine, the afternoon tea and sherry enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and furnished with taste, the beds are comfortable. this was a pleasant experience. The location is very good, near the Union square and the Grace cathedral, with many options to dine around.

Beautiful hotel in the best location. The rooms are very clean and the staff is amazing. The hotel is located by really nice cafes and great restaurants, although I would stay away from the Italian restaurant right next door. Bad service and not very good. The room is very big. Free wifi, comfortable bed, a nice fireplace that provided good heating. Location is great. a couple of laundromats on Bush St only 2 mins walk away. Terrific Japanese restaurant 5 min walk on Sutter St. 10-15 min walk to major shops e.g. Macy, Uniglo, etc. Free breakfast and afternoon tea provided. The apple pie for the afternoon tea was delicious. The receptionist was very helpful. Suggest that receptionist book a taxi for airport the day before your trip.

were many eating places of all types nearby. The hotel is slightly
uphill; it is about 3 blocks of moderate incline but there are different
routes that can minimize the uphill walk. The hotel is very nice and
