They also has great suggestions for child-friendly places to eat and a wonderful location where we could walk wherever we wanted to go. Our room was also very comfortable with more than enough space for us and all of our kids accessories.

fantastic place to stay,ran by lovely couple Steve & Gail.
after a long journey our exhaust bracket on car had snapped,while Gail showed us to our room Steve strapped exhaust up to get us home after our stay.

the hostress, Phillipa (hope I didn't wrongly spell her name) was very kind. She welcomed us with delicious tea and cookies, and provided us some milk and cereal when she heard we had to catch up an early train and would miss the breakfast - hmm, the breakfast was quite good here. The room was clean and cozy, enough space and we even saw a deer outside the window. Overall it was really nice stay, I could understand why this guesthouse could get such a high rating.

Worth every penny - a fantastic small hotel
It snowed heavily during our stay and the staff even cleared the snow from our car - We stayed in the Bowness suite and it was beautiful, we could not fault a thing at this place, will return soon

The staff were very friendly , welcoming and always ready to help. The location , set in woods and hills above Lake Windermere , is fantastic. The hotel communal areas and our room were spotlessly clean and well decorated. Lovely room overlooking the rear gardens. Breakfast was exceptional due to the choice and flexibility of options available. Owners and staff were friendly, but left you to your own devices, which was good. Option to order champagne for the room on arrival, which we did!

Our rooms were charming and comfortable. Martin gave us great recommendations for eating in town, and for taking drives around the area. It was the perfect Lake District guest house experience!

I am a wheelchair user (complete paraplegic) and found the access to be excellent. I would go as far to say that Meadowcroft is probably one of the best places I've stayed for disabled room facilities. The option to book a disabled room from the website is a very good touch, I usually have to phone ahead to confirm that the room is appropriate for my needs and available, which this function eleviated, if only other sites/hotels did this.
The room was spacious, comfortable and extremely clean.
